Fun fact!
Since 2017, only one coach has 7 wins vs Top 10 teams.
Who is that coach?

I remember when Saban signed with bama and $4 mil/year was "absurd", "crazy", "insane" and a sign of a backwards state. Good times.

If this keeps up, Coach O is going to be demanding some serious contract renegotiation.

If he can take care of the elephant in the room(pun intended) he will absolutely get a raise.

Or what? He leaves for another school or the NFL?

Yeah he really isn't a fit anywhere else, although I could see USC trying to hire him if he were ever disgruntled with the LSU folks. But that is not going to happen. Burrow will leave, the QB play will go back to shite, and he will lose 3 games a year and be on a semi warm seat for the next 5 years until he has a 5 loss season and they can him.

You don't think his agent will put feelers out there if he takes LSU to the playoffs? If he WINS the playoffs?
Dude is making less than a lot of coaches in the SEC. If he wins a national championship, only he and Saban will have rings from their current schools. How could he NOT see a serious boost in pay from that?

O knows his success depends on elite coordinators. He took a lesser payday in order to pay them.
It’s all part of the plan. He does very little coaching, and that’s a good thing for LSU

Elite coordinators is the smart thing. Don’t fool yourself about his coaching ability.

He can win all the games he wants in BR and I still don't think most program will take him seriously.
He was flat out told that he wasn't refined enough to be the coach at SC.

prior to this year Ed O has not won anything. He has not won a west title or an SEC title or a natty. We can say the same about Merlins but he was poached from a program he helped build to prominence. Merlins will win the east soon. UF and UGA will battle this out for years to come. What does O have in the way of a QB for next year. Another grad transfer perhaps?

LSU is in fortunate spot. They'll never have to pay the Ogre more money ... because no other institution can fricking understand what he is saying.

I remember when LSU hired Saban in 1999, and doubled his salary from MSU. LSU was roundly criticized for paying so much for a coach. His contract was for about $1.2 million per.
Then, after LSU won the NC in 2003, Saban's contract called for him to get the highest college HC salary + $1. LSU again was ridiculed for such extravagance. That came out to be $2.3 million per year.
Saban may have been in the forefront of college HCs getting paid, but it was at LSU, not Alabama when it started.
