That the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 are able to play an entire season this year. There's enough quality programs playing the season that I think whoever wins the National Title has a legit claim.

Now let's also pretend the Big 10 and PAC 12 actually pull off a season in the Spring. I'm sure they'll try to claim a National Title as well, but would anyone actually place any value on it? You've got 3 teams (Ohio St., Oregon, and Penn State) that even halfway decent. You've also got to think a lot of the top players for all teams would sit out since it would come so close to the draft.

My point is, I'm not sure anyone would even look at Spring Football as having any legitimacy. I'm sure it would draw TV viewers, but probably not at the numbers they would be hoping for.

Big Ten Network and Pac-12 Network personalities can hand out some award to the winner of the April Rose Bowl, but the CFP is still scheduled to happen and will determine the NC winner.

The NC was coming from one of those conferences most likely anyway.

I agree. But I would think there will pressure in the media to release a Spring version of the AP Poll. If there is an AP Spring Champ named, whoever wins it (Ohio State) will claim it for sure.

The only thing that would give credence to a spring season would be a heisman type performance from the best team.

If there was a spring season for the Big10 and Pac12, and they had a Rose Bowl, I think maybe the winner would claim a national title, but I think the general public consensus would be that only the fall champion is the national champion. although there would probably be an asterisk on the fall champion, particularly if the event actually played out specifically. Say Alabama goes 9-1, loses to 10-0 Georgia in the SECCG, then wins the playoff as the 4 seed, and then Ohio St goes 12-0, thumping Oregon in the Rose bowl. That scenario is not ridiculous and people would question who deserves champion recognition.

thankfully Ohio St's headcoach has said there's a zero percent chance of a spring season, and I believe him.

The CFP committee won't issue a championship trophy in the spring

The problem will be Ohio State is so head and shoulders above the rest of that motley crew, they will be deemed National Champions after they crush everyone on their schedule.

Nobody is playing spring FB...the entire premise is absurd.

If they play spring football, any player with any draft aspirations will sit out. Ohio State would be gutted to the point where they would be on a level playing field with the rest of the Big Ten.
