Got this from a very reliable source:

quote:

I have friends close to the situation in Oxford. Apparently the administration has been turned down by several coaches, ranging in quality from Frost to Joey Jones and all of them turned us down. We are going to have to stick with Luke for at least one more year. We just hope we can pull off the upset in Starkville so it will look like less of a shite show

Edit:

Uh oh! Confirmation!

quote:

Everything in the above quote is true and definitely not made up. He stayin!

Under the circumstances, he's held it together pretty good down there. How's the recruiting going this year?

Then I won't support that shite stain of an administration or program until Ross Bjork and anyone who had a hand in this hire are gone.

I think they will make him some sort of a permanent interim guy for a couple of years. Looki for Billy Brewer to get some a special assistant/mentor title. Happy days are here again for the Rebs.

He did one hell of a job compared to most interm coaches. OM could do much worse.
SMILE!

Forget the NCAA that will put OM football in the dark ages.

He hasn't done a terrible job. Hard to motivate a team when they can't make a bowl game.

He has a great offense. If he could hire a good DC he could do a decent job

Honestly they should have waited until the sanctions had been released to make the decision on whether or not to open it up. The uncertainty is driving prospective coaches away. If ole miss gets hammered, fine hire luke or an fcs guy to see you through it. If the worst is behind them then they could chase a decent name. Nobody worth having is going to commit to ole miss without knowing fully what they're getting in to.

Having all these other jobs open doesn't help. It is a "coaches" market and, no offense but, there are alot prettier schools out there than ole miss right now...

I ran into Coach Luke at an all you can eat Catfish Buffet last night and he said:

"MMhsympf Harufgghs mfy hu beirngyd, Burp ... Fart"

I later found out that he had just been told he would definitely be the Head Coach atom next year, that either he was the best guy for the job, or that they could find no one any better who would agree to come.

The waitress verified it was true and then said, "Is there any way we can get him to pay his bill and get out of here before he eats us out of business?"

I think they went broke this morning, and Luke stays at OM as Official Interim HC.
