You've made me feel sorry for you. It was a difficult loss, but Tennessee actually still has a lot to play for. Anyone seriously thinking they'd make the playoff this year was either an idiot, a homer, or both. They can still make a good bowl with their talent. If they lose to UF then I think Butch may find himself unemployed.

As I said earlier today, will not pick Vols ever again against Florida until I see it with my own eyes. Should we? Yes. Will we? No. I lost all confidence in the "percentages" and "analytics" team on that staff. Explains a lot of his coaching decisions when he used that as an excuse last night and this morning.

Did you watch after the 1st quarter last night?

I laughed last night while watching the game, went over to VN and laughed some more. Laughed at the Aubs and Pigs, too. Laughed at our QB situation to keep from crying.

But, you guys better watch out for Western Carolina...they are a dirty fricking team. Took all kinds of cheap shots at us last year. Good luck.

Tennessee played OU. Not like they played Jacksonville State or Toledo.

Lost in OT to a very good team

As was I. I don't see how this can be called anything other than what it is--a bad loss.

THIS..... your DL better watch their knees. If ya'll get out of that game without a serious injury, then consider it a big victory.

It's a bad loss to a good team. The way we lost is inexcusable

I told myself I'd troll the shite out of the VOLS today, but I just can't do it. It would be like hitting a wounded puppy.

Sad, really. I've never seen a fan base have the air taken out of their sails so quickly. You, Phat Phil, Serenaux, etc. have all come to realize what UT football is under Butch Jones. Sorry fellas.

I like to look at the big picture. OU is a good team and we lost because we made mistakes.
We dropped a TD pass and missed a FG. We make those plays and we win going away. Our defense was lights out until they got gassed.

I remember the game @OU last year and we were lucky not to lose by 40

I think it's easy to see we are the 2nd best team in the East and UGA struggles at Neyland. So no, I don't understand the madness today

Losing to Toledo is a bad loss

You can almost hear the gears turning in the little tenny brains as they take another gulp of pink pepto..."CAN BUTCH REALLY COACH?" Bless their heart.

Others have been saying that all off-season. So, how did he do yesterday???

This is what I'm getting at. Is OU a good team? Absolutely. UT had the chance to put this game away quite a few times and didn't do it. Up 17-3 in the 4th and lose...pitiful.

They started blitzing the shite out of us and daring us to beat them with the pass and it didn't happen. They made necessary adjustments to win the game while we sat there hoping something good would happen instead of taking it.

I'm not in "meltdown mode" over this, but trying to make it some sort of moral victory is silly. I don't see how any fan can be alright with the way the 2nd half went.

Edit: and somehow, this team will still win a decent amount of games just by out-talenting teams.

This is why I'm refusing to get all depressed about the game and declaring the season a failure, like many Vols fans have.
We can still win the East with some luck. We are a good football team

I don't think this season is a wash now, but I will not be surprised if coaching costs a couple of games that should be Ws. Las night was bad.

OU is a good team and did what it had to do, but that game was set up to be a blowout.

OU is a good team, and as much as I hate him, Stoops can coach. He has a killer instinct as a coach that I wish Pinkel had. The loss stings, but it's not one to be embarrassed about. Tennessee is a good team. Hang in there.

Ironic that now that we lose, people are being somewhat nicer to us now.

We tried to tell you about botch. It's not that you lost, it's how you lost.

The same way you did to Florida last year.
