Wow…SEC has 5 of the top 6, and 6 of the top 8 schools. Zero California schools in the top 10.

Yep. Kind of concerning for Auburn getting a host. A lot of SEC schools ahead of us.

They just decide that they won't have half the hosts be from the SEC is really the only way. We rank in the top 16 in just about every metric (road record, top 25/50 wins, RPI, schedule).

I'm still not sure it's gonna happen, though. Definitely think Alabama and Auburn should both be hosting after finishing off strong finishes with sweeps last weekend and very good overall metrics.

If either don't, the #1 seed who hosts them won't be thrilled about it.

Big 12 tourney will decide if OkState gets the host spot, I can see the committee going with Texas due to location (DBU, A&M).

Alabama finished on a high but winning 5/10 series doesn’t exactly scream Top 16…

The RPI is naturally favored heavily towards the SEC but isn’t going to get Kentucky or South Carolina national seeds.

Hell, South Carolina is #6 in RPI and has all but lost an opportunity to host after losing their last 4 series.

Make room for traditional powers like Indiana State.

I was expecting Auburn to move up a spot or two by sweeping Mizzou. Nada. This concerns me since that is our first round opponent in the SEC Tourney. I figured with the way Auburn has played down the stretch, we would be a host. I am doubting that today.

Only scenario I can come up with is if their team got busted for fixing games. Or something crazy like that.

rpi is a worthless ranking just like I said on softball sec teams get over inflated for beating good to average teams . Softball has like 13 ncaa teams and only Bama UGA Tenn made it to supers …. Unless the sec is beating other top teams from other conferences you just can’t take rpi seriously .

Clemson and Miami went 38-22 vs the ACC and 3-5 vs the SEC

Texas and Oklahoma State went 30-18 vs the B12 and 2-6 vs the SEC

Not to mention the whole recent history of the SEC's performance in the NCAA tournament every season. SEC baseball is, of all the sports, the most deserving of general respect nationally.

Baseball American also had Dallas Baptist taking a host spot in their last projection. Also teams like Boston College and West Virginia which seems like an effort to get more representation from power 5 conferences other than the SEC as hosts. Just a couple of factors that could keep teams like Alabama and Auburn from hosting.

Maryland went 17-7 vs the B1G and 36-15 vs non-SEC. They went 1-4 vs the SEC (1-3 vs Ole Miss, who won 6 SEC games).

It's never clear if they care about the tourney or not. Some years they clearly don't at all.
