With all that money you would think A&M would compete...but nope

I hope that’s right. I hope it’s soon, but being near the top in resources doesn’t always mean being near the top in championships. For most of our history, we were low in the resources department, just a little military cow college too small for LSU to even agree to play us in College Station. All this money and this huge fan base is fairly recent for us, and I hope to God we don’t screw it up.

I’ve been going to A&M games and rooting for my Ags my whole life, from the days when I could get free tickets from Dairy Queen for the horseshoe section. A championship would be beyond awesome.

The money is new, but having a better program than Arkansas is tradition.

Balk at giving Jimbo 75m but how much of a buyout did your admins give O?

I think if Jimbo was interested he’d have gotten 75 or damn close to it.

Oklahoma usually helps them break even when the idiot fans buy Longhorn logo stuff just so they can put it upside down. If merchandising is part of this revenue data, then there you have it.

No no no.

You see Jimbo is a coach with a losing record (one season) who is WAY WAY overpaid and they were lucky to dodge that bullet.

Now they have moved on to literally begging for the AD who just overpaid Jimbo.

We refused to accept our portion of the revenue sharing because of the NCAA and still aren’t last. That’s some sad shite for some schools

That’s really not true. It’s not like we’re talking about buying stocks here. We don’t care if our teams make money, we want them to win championships, and money matters a great deal in doing that. It’s both an indication of the support of their fan base and an indication of the resources they have to get the things they need to win.

I (sorta) care since we're one of the few athletic departments who covers what the entire school gets in subsidies.

They'll be too broke to field a team soon. Darn.

So Alabama is getting the best deal on national championships and Texas A&M is getting the worse?

Whoa. What a coincidence... that is the same number of games their baseball team is below .500 since they joined the SEC.

He was coming for a million less over 6 years but the powers at be fricked it up. Year two same salary but he upped for a 10 year fully guaranteed contract and LSU was never going to tie the programs hand like that and I'm glad they didn't. The only program in the conference who can take that risk is Texas A&m. If he wins there it's worth it and if he fails then it's same old Texas A&m football.

NOBODY was begging for $70 million guaranteed. Of course he wasn’t coming off a 5-7 season at the time. That swayed the cult, I guess.
