Latest KenPom Index

Tennessee needs to work on their defense with Auburn...LSU and State are similar rankings in offensive efficiency, while State is a tad better on defense (LSU could go down 2 in a row).

Teams that finish in top 20 in both offensive and defensive efficiency have won the Natty...Kentucky is the only team in the SEC in the top 20.

It's amazing Florida is only #33.

Still not out of the discussion, but certainly has a foot out the door right now.

Have to finish 7-3 the rest of the way and win 1-2 in the SEC Tourney. With @Auburn, @LSU, @Tennessee, and @Kentucky, that will be tough, but not impossible.

Florida May have strong argument over Ole Miss and Arkansas for the NCAA. Looking at the index, Ole Miss and Arkie have a lot of work. The selection committee is using KenPom heavily for their NET.

ETA: Florida’s offense is horrid...strong on defense.

128. Texas A&M

Goddammit!!!

That's not low enough.

We need to be in the 220 range to be assured action at the HC position.

We’ve dropped like 30 spots defensively in the past 3 weeks or so. Think it’s almost entirely down to complacency, I’ll be concerned if we’re Swiss cheese at Rupp as well.

2017 Gonzaga is the only team in the 16 years provided that had an offense outside of the top 10. In all but 3 of those seasons, the champion had an offense in the top 5 (Gonzaga 2017, Louisville 2013, Louisville 2014).

Tennessee is the only team in the SEC in the top 15 (#2) in adjusted offense.

There's lies, damn lies and statistics"...

Im pretty sure Michigan State has to lose at least ten more games to move out of the top five.

Zaga did not win the Natty. I don’t understand your response.

Kentucky could lose every game left on its schedule.

You stalking me?

Stop being triggered...

Gave my explanation that LSU weakness is on defense...let’s see how LSU does vs teams with lock down D (Arkie has a better D, yet worse offense and still beat y’all)

And @ Alabama and vs LSU

That's a difficult stretch to find 7 wins

According to this, Tennessee is a 2 seed and Kentucky a 3 seed

Two of these are not like the other two. You should be fine.

Villanova last season at this time was 33rd in defensive efficiency fwiw.

They were only 22nd in DE going in to the NCAA Tourney. You can move up fast in both metrics during tournament play.

You are correct though that Tennessee needs to lock in defensively. Last season this same team was 6th in Defensive Efficiency. As I’ve said many times, they seem to be content with outscoring people most nights unless it’s close late. They have been working on a zone (which has been extremely uneffective) for long stretches over the last couple weeks, only playing man when they need to get stops.

They probably need a loss to get them to really lock in defensively to be honest.
