I personally think Munson should be ahead of Musburger. Nothing like listening to Munson, on a dove field.

That's a pretty high ranking for a guy who pretty much only did 1 team.

Eli Gold is best known for his longevity. He has few iconic calls, however. His call when Tua threw the game winning TD against Georgia in the national championship game was so boring it hurts.

I was wondering myself about the AU and UA guys.

Well deserved by Larry. I'm in my mid 60's and grew up listening to Ed Thelenius then Larry...
to Larry Munson...

I only think of Enberg doing bowl games when NBC had the Rose and Orange

I was listening to Munson call UGA vs LSU one time, and he says, "Looks like the Dawgs are going to be 6... no... 5 inches short of the line to make." I was a fan of his from that point on.

I stopped right here knowing the list was shite.

No Chris Schenkel, Bud Wilkinson or Bill Flemming. This shows the age of those who selected the list.Larry Munson was a great voice for UGA football? But he didn’t represent College Football.

Definitely one of the great characters in the game's history

There have been some great radio play-by-play guys in the SEC, but I gotta give it to Munson. He was the best. He got the "theater of the mind" better than anyone else. I don't think he ever got why he was such a big deal, and that made him all the more appealing.

Was a color analyst on the broadcast team. Every person on this list who was a broadcaster was the play-by-play announcer.

His next comment after reconsidering was probably something like, "Lady Luck is sure looking out for the Dawgs tonight."
Miss him a lot.

Fyffe should be on there. Gold is only a bit above average as a football announcer. My opinion only.

Ron Franklin is top 5 easy.
