“I don’t know a whole lot about him. I think he was down at the frat house, like at a keg party or something, where they got him from,” Kiffin told the media. “So, we have condition work to do with my guy. But we just said, ‘Hey, someone go find a punter around campus,’ so we found one that actually used to punt in Division I. So, you never know.”

"We're not asking him to play football,” Saban said. “We're asking him to punt it. And he did a pretty good job of that today."

Vols had to pull a kicker out of a frat party, sober him up and get him ready on a game day a few years ago. The #1 was injured and the #2 was injured pregame.
Derrick Brodus
Derrick Brodus, freshman walk-on placekicker, was sitting in his apartment watching football prior to the start of the 2011 game against MTSU when he got a call to come to Neyland stadium immediately. Both the starting and the back-up kickers were injured, and he was to kick. A police escort took him to the stadium.
A freshman from Alcoa, when Brodus started as Tennessee’s kicker, he became the first African American kicker for UT. He received the game ball. Against Akron, he tied the single-game scoring record for a placekicker with 17 points—4 field goals and 5 of 5 extra points. He was named Honorable Mention on the College Football Performance Awards’ Player of the Week for his effort.
