We like to talk about that difference between culture and agriculture but if we're honest, the only difference between Ole Miss fans and State fans is that some root for Ole Miss and some root for State.
Ole Miss = MSNBC
State = Fox News
Hell, outside of Coonass, the State posters on this site are some of the best. They're pretty cool and down to earth IRL as well.
Ole Miss posters used to be pretty good before the majority of us got sensitive and forgot how to utilize our collective sense of humor. IRL, most are douchebags.

They are similar but the new generation of OM alumi are OOS people. ATL, Dallas, Nashville, St. Louis, etc., poeople are pretty different from Rankin county and the delta.
Also MSU was created out of envy of OM and it shows in the culture. I have had numerous people tell me that they would be happy to have MSU and OM lose rather than OM and State both win. OM fans either don't care about state or are too busy being eternal pessimeist to care.
