He said he doesn't believe in negative recruiting, particularly regarding Saban's age, because he thinks Saban will continue to coach for a number of years.

I saw one or two people bitch about it on the Bama recruiting thread. I'm not even sure what they were upset about. I haven't heard any rumor of him negative recruiting, at least about Alabama.

I saw a few threads on it on 247. BOL in particular has been pissy about Kirby pointing out Saban’s age to recruits for awhile, and then he said that he doesn’t believe in negative recruiting and said Saban may coach forever.

So the guy who negatively recruited against Bama, is against negative recruiting. Seems legit.

Kirby was asked a direct question about if he mentions Saban's age in recruiting. He said no, because he thinks that due to Saban's health and drive that he could end up coaching forever. Also said that negative recruiting is a waste of time and you're better off selling your own program because kids can see through the bullshite. Essentially a stock answer that anyone would expect a sitting head coach to give.
