are coming at some point with no sit out. And of course they are right. As Kirby said it will make required early AM gassers for skipping class an adventure or any sort of discipline if that comes about. Plus as he said every member of your signing class expects to start or get serious PT and new rules will hurt many kids who needs serious development. Mullen agreed and you can believe every other SEC coach does as well. Coaching the players will be an adventure. But the writer did go on to say Kirby's taking Maurice Smith with him when he left UA was the catalyst for change.

Change was coming long before smith left Bama. You should blame the grad transfer rule.

Why did Saban sign the transfer? He didn't have to.

The sitting out a year is slavery, they don't own these fricking kids. Let them play 4 years at any fricking school they want.

The kids demanded four year scholarships. They got them. Now they want to be able to ignore them.

I'm okay with free agency, as long as schools can cut the dead weight at any point. No drugs, no disciplinary issues, just "you're not as good as we thought a few months ago, and we're going to replace you now." "Maybe you can find another route through college, but you're on your own now."

Just like any other scholarship. If your performance lags, and you're not a starter by year two, get the frick out.

That’s incredibly dumb considering Smith was a graduate transfer.

gimpdog is trolling Georgia here, but here's the deal.

Richt signed unconditional transfers for ten years.

Richt and Georgia were both ridiculed (internally) and praised (externally) for it.

It was supposed to become a model for all college football.

Now Kirby comes in, plays a different game, and it is all Georgia's fault for all this transfer trouble.

Crock. Of. shite.

Intellectual dishonesty at its worst.

Sankey is clearly in Kirby's pocket, now that Slive is gone (physically).

How could this happen?

Kirby started WW9 with Mo Smith.

Crock. Of. shite.

Bama is on the way down. Hitting all the buttons in the elevator.

Mo Smith had the late int two years ago vs Auburn, that sealed UGAs Au win and clinched the west for Bama.... Don't see the need for animous.

Easy way to fix all of this:
keep the sit-out rule in effect except when a coach leaves; if a coach leaves, players can too, they just can't follow the coach. Also, scholarships should be for one year.

Yeah. Unprecedented 5 national titles in 9 years. Going down for sure.

So Dan Mullen, a guy who was openly shopping himself for another job during the football season, and then didn't have the guts to have an honest conversation about it with the team he lied to two weeks prior about his future, and upon getting his new job, accepted a transfer from Ole Miss (Van Jefferson) and is fighting for him to be immediately eligible, is against this rule?

Dan should keep his mouth shut.

More so that Mullen himself just transferred, in the middle of his contract, to another conference school. It's completely hypocritical.

Athletes should be treated just like regular students, who can transfer at will to any school of their choosing. Some of these coaches act like these players are their belongings.
