This isn’t the year to do it. Don’t do what Alleva did.

How stupid are you to not know your team's coach won championships at LSU too? He wasn't quite as successful as Les there though.

I like Sumlin and Chavis at A&M. Let's keep going what we have together for as long as it's working.

Tis is another one of those "Only Bama, LSU, and Georgia have won more games than A&M with Sumlin!!!!!!" Ignoring the fact that both LSU and Georgia have both changed coaches and are better off, A&M hasn't won an SEC West game at home since 2015, and most of the wins were with an NFL O-Line and Heisman QB.

Like Sumlin, hope he has success elsewhere, but it was time to move on.

Kevin Sumlin: Better Coach than A&M is as a program by winston318
If he isnt offered a big time job he should come to LSU as OC.
Rebuild the LSU offense and he would have the keys to the next big time job opening

I know it’s a troll this time, but I’ve seen similar comments are becoming all too common.

It’s incredible how ignorant fans are. Sumlin called plays for 9 games in his entire career. He took over as OC for A&M when Dino Babers was fired. That’s it. He’s not an offensive guru, he’s whatever the OC he hires is.

He followed briles at Houston, and inherited an nfl OL and Johnny/mike at A&M. The dude is a fraud.

If you truly want someone who has called plays for a grand total of 8 games in his entire career be our guest.

I think A&M should hire Chipper

That annoying New England accent will work in East Texas.

Why cant you believe it? Sumlin has had plenty of time to field the type of team he wants. The problem is that the teams he wants are not physical enough. His philosophy as a coach fits much better in the big12 or at houston. He simply cannot field a team that can match up physically at the line of scrimmage. That, and the mishandling of talent at the qb position have left texas am with no other option but to let him go. Have you seen anything out of kevin sumlin's teams that would lead you to believe they would start competing for titles in the sec? Not me. Kevin sumlin has had ample opportunity and hasn't gotten it done. I hope they keep him myself lol, but he definitely hasn't accomplished anything in his time there...and he's been there a while.

I cannot believe you morons are getting rid of Sumlin. This guy made your team relevant in the toughest division in the toughest conference in the entire country. You guys got a big head when you had that one year and now you think you're an elite program. How many 10 win seasons did you have before Sumlin arrived? How many Heisman winners before Manziel? This guy made your program relevant, good luck trying to compete against BAMA and Auburn without an offensive innovator like Sumlin. If I was the Florida AD, I'd be flying a plane into College Station as we speak. I for one would love to see what a Sumlin team looks like with elite recruiting. Hope you all enjoyed the Francione years! They're coming back!

3-12 in home divisional games isn't relevant. It's sustained failure.

A&M thought they fired RC too late. More importantly they claimed they did not have the facilities to compete with Texas at this time.
Fast forward to now. They will not wait until year 5 of Tom Herman. Herman pulled a 5 star recruit into Cougar High but more importantly he has a Top 3 class for 2018.
If this fails maybe A&M will try to fire their coach before UT does.

What is funny is that A&M boosters shouldn't have been paying all these universities in 2014 to give their new coaches contracts. All the new coaches that worked new contracts because of Texas' coach search was because A&M boosters funded them.

There is a lot of pressure in College Station to win right now. Problem with that is that Texas could be the favorite in the Big XII going into next year.

Well at least you’ve know let LSU off the hook and made it clear you’re a longhorn fan.

his brother played at UH and Tom hired his old coach.

He has a very impressive class, and will be higher than A&M, but let’s not pretend it will finish top 3. Bama is sitting at 22 right now.

Tje fact is that Herman was the only coach ever who pulled in a 5 star recruit at a non P5 except of course BYU and ND.

There is a reason why A&M is tentative with Sumlin. Meaning that they will not fire him until they find a replacement. Someone leaked information to the Houston Chronicle last night that Sumlin was fired.
A&M has not fired him yet.

Meaning that A&M does not want to lose Sumlin unless they get the coach they want.
Reason why is that if they fire Sumlin without a coach the enter a field with numerous other schools who are looking but more importantly because there is a good chance they will be stuck with a Chad Morris.
