Really is funny gumps constantly posting on here trying to convince themselves of the good hire.
The same Bama fans who laughed at AU when he was hired DC in Auburn.
He must gave really improved at Miami.

It's not a DC problem, or OC problem that Alabama has right now.
It's culture. Nick was always really good at this. But it is slipping. So much has changed in his career in the sport, the environment, and he has done so well rolling with the punches and adapting to change, but there's only so long you can go like that. It's amazing what he's already done and how well he has handled that program over 15+ years. But everyone, everyone, every train, eventually runs out of steam.

I don't know anything about the new OC but I believe the OC and DC need to have complimentary styles. I don't think Golding and BoB's styles complimented each other very well.

My god, he went 24-4 with an SEC title since his last national title. Y’all act like the dude can barely string together a functional football team.

Upgrade in a lot of ways. Simplified scheme. No more paralysis by analysis. But simple can still lead to its own set of issues.

I'm not saying bama is in the gutter, or anywhere near it, it's so stacked, team AND program, specifically because Nick is so great, all to his credit, that he could retire tomorrow and replace him with any decent coach and still be a perennial top ten team. Because of Nick.
But the days of Alabama being the consensus NC favorite year after year after year with everyone else on the outside looking in... those days are over.

Not really. Just an LSU thing. Y’all bitched about 3rd and Chavis too.

Steele’s 2022 Miami defense gave up 40+ to Middle Tennessee, Duke, Florida State, Clemson, and Pittsburg
Oof

This is true.
For almost 20 years the guy preached against the same "clutter" he was balls deep in last season.
Between his commercials, car dealerships and hotel ventures he stayed distracted and his team reflected this.
The bookends weren't the problem and the offensive and defensive numbers supported this. The problem is and was the man and his various side hustles. His head wasn't in the game and consequently neither was his team. Saban's teams have always been a direct reflection of him.
Last season's team was klutzy, unfocused and unsure of itself. And this was the most talented roster in the country.
If Saban re-commits himself to winning, then off to Atlanta. If he keeps with the same lacsidasical shite as last season, then he and his non-optouts can represent in the Kotex Bowl.

I disagree about that. There has always been great contenders to play against but the standard that Bama has made will be hard to top but Georgia is definitely starting to etch themselves in that same light as perennial NC favorites.

What do mean "not even close"? Holy shite.
It's as if you don't know who Kevin Steele is.
