He was also 2nd Team ALL-SEC, so I guess our coaches are doing something right.

LK knows if he highlights something it will catch a ton of media attention so I'm not sure what he was trying to accomplish by highlighting this beyond taking a shot at a player whose answer was pretty forgettable/innocuous and that no one would've paid attention to if LK hadn't blasted him on twitter.
So Lane runs practices that the kid feels are too grindy, go over time instead of concluding when scheduled, hit more and are less concerned with protecting the athlete's body. At some point the kid also got the impression that the reason the coaching staff gave him for these practices was along the lines of "cuz we're in the West by God!" Nevermind that at present, the East is better, being in any given division isn't really a good reason for doing something one way over the other. It's just sort of a rah-rah point to talk up how you do things.
There are going to be others out there that love how LK does things and hate how Stoops does things and on and on. Players respond to different things and that's fine. So why the hell did LK make this so personal?

Despite the record this season, we’re #18 in Total Defense. We’ve regularly had Top 20 defenses at UK under Stoops.
So, again, looks a bit silly to call out if it’s working.
