Sorry, not sorry

quote:

Now came the news this week that Michigan State coach Mel Tucker did not vote Kentucky, which finished 10-3 and won the Citrus Bowl, in the final top 25 coaches poll, one of only 2 coaches to do that out of 62. San Diego State’s Brady Hoke was the other. Kentucky checked in at No. 15 in the final poll.

quote:

Michigan State coach Mel Tucker made an unsuccessful attempt to lure Kentucky recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow to his inaugural staff in February 2020. The Wildcats then landed linebacker Luke Fulton and receiver Tre’Von Morgan as transfers from Michigan State last offseason.

The budding rivalry reached a new level when Kentucky had to fight off a last-minute effort from Tucker and Michigan State to flip five-star offensive tackle commitment Kiyaunta Goodwin, a Louisville native who played for Charlestown High School in Southern Indiana, on signing day in December.

Well that explains Mel Tucker's ballot.

What is Brady Hoke's excuse, other than he is a football retard?

It makes sense in context, honestly.

Stoops has been hitting Ohio and the Midwest hard for the opportunity to be close to home but playing in the SEC (a pretty good sell). While we’ve gotten a handful of talent that is Ohio State and Michigan quality the last couple of years, it’s been by and large nabbing those guys that just miss out on those rosters. And who teams like Michigan State, Penn State, Purdue, etc. typically get as their higher end recruits.

Tucker has also tried twice to poach our top recruiter with no success. And he regularly faces Stoops and Co. on the recruiting trail in Ohio.

I don't think that guy has or needs another reason.

Putting your hurt arse on display for the world to see in a way that makes you look like a complete fool doesn't actually make sense in any context. It's possible for him to be frustrated and also not make himself look like he shouldn't be taken seriously at the same time.

Man, Kentucky being good is kind of fun and good for CFB. People just CANNOT take having to see UK as a legitimate threat. It fries their poor CPUs.

I hadn't thought of that. One more good season and you guys may be on to something up there! Playing in the SEC is a major draw for most kids.

Well, he'll certainly be successful at luring him away now that he's doing petty crap like this.

Mel Tucker was on the phone with our 5 Star tackle Kiyaunta Goodwin all the way until he took the stage to commit to Kentucky He wouldn't let him off the phone and Kiyaunta was too polite to hang up so they delayed the start of the presser.

Like he'd already told him where he was going and Mel wouldn't let go.

Damn Mel, show some professionalism. Jeez.
These guys have been bitter since we went into Ohio and Michigan and snared some guys that wanted to play in the SEC.
