Kentucky vs. UGA....

After watching the UF-UK game and the LSU-UK game, I get why Kentucky fans are so excited.
That said, everything we've seen this season says Saturday will be a very different experience. LSU is not what they were two years ago, but they still carry the name value. It's not that different from beating an unranked UK team in basketball. It still carries some weight if you haven't beaten them very often.
I don't fault the Kentucky fans for believing they can win. What are they supposed to do after their first 6-0 start in six plus decades?
That said, I've just heard a lot of reaching this week to believe.
For instance
Lexington radio: "The last few years we've competed with UGA similar to way we have with Florida. Eventually we finally broke through." This just isn't true. While Kentucky has been in the game at the half the last two years, UGA has won every game the past four seasons by 11 or more. And UGA was in complete control of those games in the fourth quarter, having double digit leads entering the final 15 minutes.
The problem for Kentucky is that these two teams play the same style. So you have to beat someone who does what you do better than you do. These kind of matchups don't usually bode well for the lesser talent.
I think if there is one unit overall that might be a little better than UGAs, it's UK's Oline. But there is no real advantage there because they matchup with UGA's biggest strength.
I like the UK RB, but if we were forced to use Zeus so heavily I think his stats would look pretty similar.
UK probably has the best WR, but UGA's unit overall is stronger and we're getting a couple back this week.
I think the UK QB is better than the previous years, but stats don't really show him to be several tiers up. He did have a good game last week, but he's barely averaging over 100 yards per game in conference and UK hasn't exactly been in control of games in the second half the way UGA is. That has a lot to do with why we shut our passing game down.
UK's strengths are running the football, bend but don't break D and special teams. Throw in an explosive playmaker at WR and that's gonna win a lot of games. But it won't be nearly enough Saturday.
As far as the spread, I wouldn't want to bet on it and that's what I've found most of the pros saying. Kirby may manage this game where it's virtually impossible to cover. Both of these coaches have played very conservatively in these meetings of late. That could be what we see Saturday.
Could we lose? It's sports. Of course. But it would take something out of the ordinary. Being negative 3 or 4 in turnovers. Two TDs that come from a combination of defense and STs. It can happen, but it's just not likely.
Go Dawgs!!

I don't know about that. Burks at Arkansas is pretty damn good and we shut his arse down.

Now he might be the best one we face all year. And their OL will most likely be the best we play. It should be a great matchup. We'll have to stop the run and force them into passing situations.

I was saying the UK WR is the best in this game.

I don't know if I believe that either but we'll find out soon enough.

Watch the UK-SC game and you'll feel better.

Burks is going to need to control his weight or he will be a TE in the NFL.

Or the Chattanooga game where it took an INT for a TD to win it for UK.

Dawg fans in their GOAT season are worried about Kentucky

Not really. I usually watch other teams play that we're matched up with. Honestly, I haven't been worried about a game since Clemson.
I doubt I will be until Atlanta.
But we've been upset before.
Not sure if there is any team on the schedule as good as 2017 Auburn, 2020 UF or 2018 LSU. 2019 bunch literally made the defense win almost every game after Tennessee. Not comparable to this team.

I expect both Georgia and Kentucky to play well this weekend but I think Florida has a better chance to upset Georgia than Kentucky.

We are battered and now we have to put up with the Braves stealing our limited sports luck/attention

I don't think most Georgia fans are really worried. You know how it is in the week leading up to a game, especially on a message board. You've heard of coach speak, right? Well this is basically the equivalent in fan form.

Until you win the NC, that's what you want.

I'm super confused why these Kroger guys believe they win this. Even with Aubie and Arky, they had a few fans concede a probable loss.
Haven't heard a snippet yet from these Midwest guys. You dudes mix the moonshine and meth nowadays huh

On paper and on hoof Dawgs look like much better team, my problem with this game is coaching. If Kirby decides to play man ball vs KY, it could keep game close for a half. A close game a turnover in 3rd quarter could give KY hope and momentum and then you are in a Dog fight. Dawgs will win this game, but by 24, thanks but no thanks.

Monken is taking what the defense gives.
If the defense is playing coverage (clemson, arkansas), then UGA runs.
If the defense takes away the run, then UGA goes over top (UAB, South Carolina, Vandy).
In the first half, Auburn mixed up their defense. We hit a 33 yarder against zone defense to Bowers. Later, we hit a 25 yarder against zone to Washington. And then went over the top against man coverage for 45 yards to McConkey.
It was the second half where for the first time in my memory that Monken forced the issue running into a stacked box. Auburn (like kentucky) lacked depth and we moved on them. And it setup the 60 yard bomb to McConkey against man coverage.
My point is that i dont expect manball in the first half unless Kentucky decides to play coverage in the first half like Clemson and Arkansas. It wouldnt shock me if we show how physical we are in the second half if we are up a couple of scores (because Kentucky will wear down).

Just know I gave a blood sacrifice this morning (my gallbladder) for a win.
