Clicky Thing

Listed in critical by stable condition. He's one of the emerging leaders on our defense. Only started 8 games last season because of concussions, but had 43 tackles and an interception in those games.

Hes from my hometown. Went to school with his mom. Good folks. Whole town is sending prayers for this young man and his family.

Just read the article. Dont want to make any guarantees on his recovery but hes at one of the best hospitals in the region.

That's good to know. I don't know much about that area of the state.

@SteveJones_CJ: Greg Nord, who was Ashely Lowery's primary UK recruiter, said Lowery's family said he was thrown from car during accident.

Martavious Neloms tweeted out a little while ago that he saw a pic of the car and it was really bad.

They seem to be optimistic enough though.

Atlanta media is just now starting to pick up the story.

Ashley Lowrey's family spokesman tells CJ: "The extent of his neck injury is still unknown, but he has no significant head or brain damage."

To not have a significant head or brain injury is impressive for someone who was thrown 100 feet from his car.

There are a lot of wrecks on that road...lots of blind curves everywhere and a hill that you can go airborne if you go over it fast enough.

They think that weather played a factor in the crash. He's awake, moving his arms and legs, and answering questions correctly. Absolutely amazing, considering the way his car looks. The Dr's are saying that him not wearing his seatbelt and being ejected likely saved his life.
