I hate Florida but they had a good team this year and if not for their 3 top receivers opting out they would’ve been competitive and Probly would’ve won that game. It’s sorry as hell all these people not playing in bowl games.

Screw Toney, Pitts and the others. Trask helped put them where they are. No way in hell they look as good with Jones at qb. Jones is a terrible passer. Trask helped them become superstars and they quit on him and hung him out to dry. I hope both Toney and Pitts go to the Bears. I want to see them on a team with no qb.

Look what happened to Jaylon Smith a few years ago. He lost a shite ton of money because he played in a dumbass non playoff bowl game. Footballs a violent game..with a limited shelf life.

We checked last week and found that he was the only player that had a severe injury in a "meaningless" Bowl game.....and you know what else we found?

Contract Notes. Jaylon Smith signed a five year, $63.75 million contract extension with the Cowboys on August 20, 2019. Per PFT, Smith received $35.4 million in guarantees, of which $19 million is guaranteed at signing.

I think he will be just fine.

These players are more than welcome to do what they want, but they should understand that the fans are going to be upset. Thats why I had a lot of respect for what Judy and the other wr's for bama last year. They played in a none meaningful game against kaki paints last year when they didn't have to. Judy said he never thought about not playing. Team player and mad respect to those guys.

NFL players are unionized and forced to play by contract obligation. College players are free labor. There’s a huge difference

If I had millions on the line I would still play till the bitter end bc the school I committed to is still paying my scholarship. My dad would kick my arse for opting out plain and simple.

It comes down to leadership and culture as well. I am a LSU fan and neither of those things were present.

To each their own. My opinion is that it’s a personal decision and who cares what someone decides.

Shittt even Saban agrees...

Look, I try to get guys to make business decisions about what they’re going to do,” Saban said Dec. 16. “I kind of get it if you’re a high first-round draft pick. The money versus how you can protect yourself and insure yourself may make a business decision that says the risk is not worth the reward of playing in the game.

“But if you’re not in that position, then you have an opportunity to showcase your talents and try to impress people with how you play in the game. That’s pretty much what I told those guys, and it’s their choice. Everybody has to live with sort of the consequences of their decisions, whether they’re good decisions or bad decisions.”

I’m sorry, but any bowl game outside the playoff is a participation trophy. It’s college footballs fault for putting the players in this position just too make another payday for TV and colleges. College football is the only sport that does this crap.

It’s ok to lose, everyone is NOT a winner.
- If Tom Brady doesn’t make the playoff, the NFL doesn’t put him in a worthless skittles bowl for some 8 cent trophy. Tom Brady takes his arse home and tries again next year.

- If LeBron doesn’t make the nba playoffs, the NBA doesn’t put him in a worthless chef boy r dee bowl for some 8 cent trophy. LeBron takes his arse home and tries again next year.

If you aren’t Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson, or Ohio State right now, you failed. It’s over. Don’t stoop down and play at the M&M bowl for a participation trophy. Take your arse home and try again next year.

What is different about the playoffs as opposed to any other system we’ve had to determine a national champion in terms of number of teams still in the mix come bowl season?

It has nothing to do with the postgame system, that’s just a red herring.

The truth is players are more educated now than they were a decade ago, and if anyone here claims they would risk a round in the draft for a game that nets you nothing, you are full of shite.

The SEC is a feeder league for the NFL and come senior year, these guys are professionals looking out for their career.

Tua Tagovailoa almost lost his career against Mississippi State last year with a horrific injury that would have truly killed his chances at ever playing football again just two decades ago. Despite the injury, he went #5 in the 2020 NFL Draft. An injury doesn't set you back as much as it did 10 years ago. If anything, players are less educated on the subject and are easily manipulated by agents looking to make a payday.

As a football fan, I don't feel these "Jokas" owe
me a damn thing---but they sure as hell owe their
teammates who sweated their arse off and will never
sniff a pro opportunity and as supporting cast
made it possible for "Joka" and his fellow
quitters to have a shot to "get paid" with the "green".

If LeBron didn't make the playoffs he wouldn't take his arse home and try again next year, he would start trying to get all the players from the winning team and every other random good player to come to his team so they could beat the ever living shite out of the other teams and it not be competitive at all. I just wish that the NFL would create their own Farm league, draft these guys straight out of high school and try to run it like MLB does. That way all these guys that exclusively want to play football and not partake in any of the amateur portions of the sport could start getting paid and focus 100% on football. Florida wouldn't have been trotting a team out that hadn't played together all season. If they want to go to college later in the super rare event the NFL doesn't work out then go back and pay for it like everyone else does. I mean we've all heard that scholarship isnt worth anything anyways so it shouldnt be a problem. It solves both issues.

And this is the type of player booger was ranting about.

“Oftentimes young players, especially — I’m gonna go ahead — especially young African American players, because they make up 70 percent of this league — they come into this league and ask themselves the wrong thing,” McFarland said. “They come into the league saying not ‘how can I be a better player?’ They don’t say, ‘How can I be a better teammate?’ They don’t say, ‘How can I be a better person; how can get my organization over the hump?’

“Here’s what they come in saying. They come in saying, ‘How can I build my brand better? How can I build my social media following better? How can I work out on Instagram and show everybody that I’m ready to go, but when I get to the game, I don’t perform?’”

He gave everything he had to his teammates this entire season, but they fell short and didn’t make the playoffs, and have no shot at the national championship trophy, which is the ONLY trophy that matters. If the guys not good enough to go pro are the ones who believe that these bowl games outside the playoffs matter, then they are the ones that need to re-adjust their thinking, look themselves in the mirror, and slap themselves for putting any stock into a participation trophy. That’s probably a big reason they weren’t good enough in the first place
