Auburn wasn’t gonna have any better a chance vs. USC than Oklahoma was. They just saved themselves the embarrassment of getting destroyed by Pete Carroll twice in a row.

That 04 lsu auburn game is one of the top games in modern sec history imo. One of the hardest hitting games I’ve seen

At least be right. We would have lost to pete for the third time in a row if we woulda gotten the chance. But that 04 team woulda given usc way more of a game than oklahoma did.

So, you chose to make that statement after watching just two of our games: one against #5 LSU and the other against our archrival in one of the most heated rivalries in college football.

Now go back and watch these two games:

2004 USC vs Stanford and
2004 USC vs UCLA

Then get back to us.....

No way Auburn loses 55-19 to USC. I'm not sure if they would have won, but they probably would have lost 24-14 or something like that.

LSU was arguably the best team in 2004. We were a completely different team by the end of the season.

How long was LSU's winning streak after the bowl games?

They would have beaten USC imo, that defense was filthy

No one knows how an Auburn/usc game would have turned out. What we do know is oklahoma had no business in the game in the first place.

It was the premier matchup in the SEC in the 2000s. Every single one of those games delivered on the hype and hard hitting.

Oklahoma struggled with very mediocre A&M and Okie State. LSU was Auburn's only win by one score

Because the score was 55-19

Reasonable take

Anyone who doesn't think AU would have had a better shot than Oklahoma hasn't spent any time looking at the 3 resumes

What part of their schedule makes you think 2004 Oklahoma was superior to 2004 Auburn, exactly?

I think Auburn ran the table against harder competition.

Are you under the impression that USC and Oklahoma didn’t experience close games in 2004 or something?
