Just how bad did Slive mess up by adding to the conference for Basketball?

We could of had Louisville, guys, been saying it for a while now.

Only way Slive could have done worse would have been extending an invite to BYU to "strengthen" the conference for basketball.

Weaken the conference in football? Check.

Baseball? Lulz, check.

Basketball? Jury is still out, looks possible.

Fire Slive before he destroys the SEC.

You wouldn't want Louisville. Mizzou and Texas A&M wasn't looking at having to possibly drop their football program not that long ago.

Which is ironic, since L'ville has been to a BCS bowl more recently than either one of them and more total than both combined.

Thank you. There's a laundry list of why L'ville is a better fit for the SEC and we missed the mark.

Lville might have considered cutting the program 20 years ago, Mizzou might have to do it in 5.

I think we should trade them for Kentucky. At least they are competent in football now.

If there were any possible way to kick Kentucky from the conference and add Louisville I like to think Slive would have gotten it done. He's not stupid enough to not even try is he?

If you think Louisville could've made a BCS bowl playing in the SEC you're not nearly as bright as I thought.

Did I say they could?

I mean they are dominated by other SEC teams like Kentucky so.... wait, that's not right...

You know, now that I think about it Arkansas hadn't won a National Championship in the Big 3 in quite some time. Maybe we can kick Arkansas out for Louisville since they're clearly underperfoming.

I agree but I would look at UF and USCe as partly responsible as there was the "agreement" between these schools to not support the admission of schools within the respective states. I think this is what kept Louisville from being a serious contender

The SEC AD's can behave like children when they want and I'm sure such maneuvering would have set off WWIII within the conference

We own the series in both football and basketball.

Their bball program can still be salvaged, they just need to find a new coach. Also, I know nobody cares/wants to hear it but Mizzou's academics are heads and shoulders above Louisville.

Kentucky was not going to allow it and who can blame them. Neither will SC allow Clemson, UGA allow Ga Tech or Florida allow FSU.

frick Louisville.

Can we trade ULM for Arkansas? Athletics upgrade in all sports except track, and with A&M/Florida/LSU we will still dominate.

They are all about expanding the media footprint. It's the same reason Maryland is going to the Big 10. Louisville didn't have much to offer in terms of what they would offer to ESPN.
