Josh Pate said that Saban thought it was a closed private room with no cameras.

I was watching Josh Pate’s video on his thoughts on what happened. He said he has it on great authority that Saban thought this was a closed room not opened to the public with no cameras. I guess Saban failed to understand that in 2022, everybody has cameras on their phone if that was really the case him thinking he was just talking to the bama boosters in the room.

So he’s either lying or an idiot.
However, that does not jive with his fake apology yesterday.
Let’s say he’s telling the truth. You don’t have to tell boosters you don’t buy players. I’m pretty sure that’s a waste of time bc in those so called closed meetings with boosters, the discussion would be very blunt on the amount of money required for the recruits. Or are we going to start living in fairy tell land?

Saban just got in front of himself. It happens. He came across as petty or arrogant, maybe? I mean it's Nick Saban, we all know who he is. But then Jimbo poured gas all over himself and lit himself on fire. 2/3 months from now people won't remember specifically what Saban said, but they will have an impression that Jimbo has an inferiority complex and melts down under stress or criticism. Substantively, everyone has an opinion. But as far as perception-Jimbo murdered himself.
Jimbo should have had a press conference, smiled and laughed, called Nick a great coach who feels he owns college football, reminded everyone that Nick is 70 and won't be here forever, said Saban called to apologize and said "see you in October", Nick. Why he allowed the public to see him that insecure is a mystery. Aggie needs to step up their in-house PR game.

That’s not believable. It’s wasn’t just a Bama Booster event, it was a public event for the city. Someone else with more knowledge can confirm.

Correct it was not a booster event but a countdown event for the World Games that he was asked to attend. Now there may have been the majority are also booster/alum in there but it was not a UA event.
I also think he was calling out his own boosters telling them it was time to pony up.
