Jon Sumrall went 11-2 with bowl win. If he get Troy to another 11-2 or better for the next two years will any AD from the power of 5 hire him to be the next HC. Maybe Alabama?

He played LB at UK and coached here as well. Troy hired him from us for the HC gig. Definitely someone UK would be after down the road after Stoops.

But he is born in Alabama. Might be a good landing spot for him when Nick retires. Plus, how many more years do you think Stoops will be coaching at Kentucky before he retires?

You can’t be serious. The guy that replaces Saban is not going to be the Troy head coach.

Yes he can be if he does very well there and does a lot better than the last HC that eventually went to Florida.
I am liking Drinkwitz more than ever right now. He is moving in the right direction with the good hiring of assistants so far. The roster is a lot better than what Odom had when he was the HC. There are some really good ones. So far Jon Sumrall has done a good job so far. Give him 2 to 3 more years he will be hired away to a top football program.

Less than a zero % chance.

He’s a .500 coach. Nothing more, nothing less. This isn’t a good argument on why Bama would hire Sumrall.

I guess you got it because of the bad situation Missouri was in and that it would take time and now starting to build a good coaching staff and getting much needed better players and have good backups and depth. Missouri isn't a powerhouse in football. I guess you didn't think that matters for any HC. You are really needed to learn what Stoops did at Kentucky. He didn't just be good right off the bat. It took him a long time.

Lol I’m well aware of what Stoops has done at Kentucky. He’s only won more than 7 games in a season 3 times and has a 32-50 SEC record. Maybe I’m misreading your program but I’d assume that Mizzou has higher aspirations than to finish above 7 wins more than three times in a decade.

For reference, that’s what Mizzou has done in their 11 years in the SEC. Twice under Pinkel and once under Odom. You also have a better SEC record during that time and yet have mostly been unhappy as a fan base with your performance.

It’s wild that I apparently have higher expectations for your program than you do.

When you don't get what is happening to a football program then you become clueless by posting your idiotic post. Drinkwitz is putting together a much better roster and coaching staff when he just took over the football program. That is where you are clueless of what is going on with the situation. You better start paying attention to what others are doing before you post idiotic posts.

No chance. Neil Brown was the last hot name to come from Troy. He hasn't exactly set the world on fire at WVA.

while it would never happen, it wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.. whoever does replace him will be a dead man walking as there is no way to step into those shoes and make people happy..

not even Kirby or Dabo could live up to the expectations imo..

My money is on an NFL guy when the day comes.. they will try to repeat the process

eta: I don’t mean this guy as I’ve never heard of him.. I meant in general, a lesser known coach will not be the hire, but I don’t hate the idea

I’m praying he will be Ole Miss next coach. He is going to be a star
