But Chavis isn't responsible for snapping the ball with too much time on the clock.

this was a very tough loss for the aggies. Clear your heads and know that as a defensive coordinator you do not give up a 34pt lead midway the 3rd quarter. You can blame a lot of folks for the loss, but a good defensive coordinator would not let this happen.

A&M needs to temper expectations as to what their long history suggests. Middle of the pack, not horrible but nowhere near elite. This "sleeping giant" thing is just a myth. Accept and move on. Save yourselves a lot of unnecessary anger.

This is sorta dumb.

LSU had basically the same history as A&M with fewer championships until around 2000 when Saban an co arrived.

There is no reason we cannot compete at an elite level.

Chavis is gone regardless. There is no dispute here.

He was gone even if A&M went 15-0.

Sumlin is the problem

LSU fans predicted this actually. Sumlin's Air raid offense gives the players little rest. At LSU, Les was all about ball control and eating up the clock

Great theory, but if you can't convert third downs you're not a ball control offense

A Recent had to publicly call out his peers because there STILL aren't enough votes to fire him now.

Give it time. I was worried Les would survive the Wisconsin loss and that took care of itself Sumlin has 11 more chances to lose his job.

Well Aggies were extremely braggadocios on this. Your fanbase thought it stole one from LSU and wouldn't shut up about it, until y'all realized he doesn't recruit or coach second halves.

It's not sorta dumb. It's fukn stupid.

Unlimited resources and some of the best recruiting lands in the country when literally all the other Texas schools are down? One good coach/philosophy change away from competing. They need a good defensive minded coach.

Chavis is a good coach . His life resume outside his current job suggests that.

Agree to disagree. Most of us had seen all we could handle of Mr. Chavis.

A&M couldn't pass the ball, so they ran it that second half with the tailbacks and the QB. The defense definitely gave up all those points. Even a 90 yard drive in the 4th that only took a few minutes.

Little brother mentality on a Soviet-style campus in a Starkville-esque town. The Aggies don't have nearly as much "potential" as their delusional fans think.

Arky fans used to think the same way but the SEC eventually broke them, A&M will be no different.

Those numbers are incredible OP

I will say this though, Chavis had this guy in position to make a play, he just failed to do so. Not defending Chavis, but damn man you gotta make plays like that at this level.

Prior to the 2000 season

Texas A&M:

18 conference titles
1 national title
23 poll finishes
601-375-48 record (.610 pct)

LSU:

10 conference titles
1 national title
29 poll finishes
610-353-47 (.627 pct)

Those look EXTREMELY similar

So as of 1999. You're including by far the best period in A&M history and by far the worst period in LSU's history (the 90's) while excluding the best period in LSU history how convenient

Where are you getting your number btw? I know there is a site out there that will show you stats as of certain years.
