Mullen was not a sure thing when we hired him and lots of folks thought he would fail. On paper Moorhead is a vastly better canidate than Mullen was.

Mullen is a great OC/QB coach and a good head coach. Not known if he will be a great HC. He is still developing as a HC. One way to look at it is he 45 so still time to grow. The other way to view it is he's been a HC in the SEC Wrst for 9 years and still hasn't figured some things out. Florida will have to be patient with him. For what he is being paid he should be a finished product but is still developing. He will probably have two years to complete the growth process or the heat will be on.

Congrats on the hire....it will be more than Xs & Os in the SEC though. The SEC is the burning pit and chew you up and spit you out. The good thing is that State fans don't come with the high ceiling of expectations. 2018 should be a great year for you with a lot of starters back.
But no need to have sour grapes about Mullen, he could only do so much with MSU and the competition in the west. MSU isn't a storied program, lets face facts. Mullen wanted to be at Florida and you cant blame him for that.

Yet to be seen BUT Florida fans KNOW he was their ~#6 choice and his leash will be SHORT.
UF just fired a coach that won 2 of last 3 division titles.
At State, Dan had total control of FB program. Guess we will see how it plays in Gainsville.
