Smith will line up across from very few guys in his NFL career with better play strength. He’s practiced against the likes of Minkah Fitzpatrick, Pat Surtain, Trevon Diggs, Levi Wallace, Anthony Averett, Josh Jobe, etc. Don’t confuse the numbers on a scale with weakness. Nobody is going to “bully” Devonta Smith. He’s going to be a much more physical player than most of the guys trying to cover him.

Under PFF grades they have D.Smith ranked #1 ....Chase not listed...hmmm

He's also rated #1 among WRs most likely to quit on their team.
So many accolades!

Look at the Tiger fans bragging about a player who quit on their team.
Waddle and Smith have way more upside on heart alone.
Chase will probably quit on a route if things get too rough.

So far...
Devonta Smith Career>>>> Ja’Marr Chase Career

As long as guys go first round, I care more about which team they go to.
If Chase goes before the others, fine, just as long as our guys avoid Cincinnati and Detroit I'm good. Add Baltimore to that list for our WRs.
But why do LSU fans claim Chase anyway? When he's introduced, it'll state which pre-draft training facility he was at, not which school.

Well their guy actually played this season and won the Heisman and a Natty, I think they'll be fine.
Yours quit like a bitch.

Oh, like Jarvis Landry? Considered to be a great teammate who stays out of trouble. I can name some other LSU alum who had a solid NFL careers if you’d like.

Ban bet for first receiver off the board between Smith and Chase?

The same way ruggs was picked over jefferson. Sometimes shiny measurable a blind you from seeing actual skill.

Just for comparison
Hopkins 6’ 1” 214
Evans 6’ 5” 235
Jones 6’ 3” 220
Green 6’ 4” 210
The closest thing to Smith of the top WR’s would be Hill at 5’ 10” 185. He’s still 10 pounds heavier than Smith but runs a damned 4.29 40.
I think Smith will have a great career, but is there any other reason for these “experts” to have Chase higher in the draft than Smith other than his size?

A normal person looks at the OP and doesn’t see think, “Wow, LSU has the #1 rated WR.”
They think, “Wow! Bama has 2 of the top 3 rated WRs which is something that has probably never happened in college football history.”

I highly doubt that.
