Philadelphia gear, $1,000 (and a $13 cheesesteak from Larry’s)
Jewelry and shoes, $30,000
Charities and giving back, $60,000
“So, this Christmas toward the end of the year, the holiday season came around and I was in search of a family I just wanted to bless — I actually met this family through Alex’s Lemonade Stand. It’s a foundation in Philadelphia that basically supports cancer research. And I got to meet the family, I got to meet Eric. Eric has a very rare cancer and he beat it.”
Hurts gave Eric’s family a $30,000 check for a downpayment on a new house, as well as games, systems, and a TV for Eric.
Continuation:
Living expenses (Rent, wifi, phone bills, etc.) – $30,000
Business Fees (For his agent and financial advisor) – $20,000
Offseason Treatment (Training and self-care) – $10,000
Home Improvement for his mom’s house – $15,000
Brother’s wedding – $1,000
Paid off his car – $10,000
“I didn’t see the need to get a brand new car. My 300 ride just right to me. I got that car when i was in college, a used car, low mileage, having the money I have now, I had the capabilities of paying it off.”
Future vacation(s), $15,000
Sister’s tuition, $70,000
Savings, $835,000

I do wonder how many kids getting these big NIL deals will have a sticker shock when it comes tax time. Sounds like Jalen is being smart with his money, but I wonder how many others are gonna find themselves in a bind.

Because people need good examples to follow in life since they don't get good home training or schooling anymore.

Yeah, that is 100% BS. No mention of taxes in your quote off a $1 million in earnings.
Yeah, that did not happen.

You do know he made more than $1M right?

Nice $800+k nest egg to fall back on. Very wise. Hard not to like Jalen. My dad has liked him since college and kept saying he thinks he’s gonna be good in the NFL. I had my doubts, but seems like he’s proving many of us wrong.

Agent probably went soft on his front end because the back end is gonna be hefty.

And you know they are doing this breakdown on $1 million in earnings.
From the article...
quote:
They are paying Hurts roughly $1 million
So, if they are saying he earned $1million and this is how he spent it, then that is BS to not include taxes, unless he didn't pay them.
If he made far more than $1million, then the article is factually incorrect.

This is fantastic.
Reminds me of Bradley Bozeman living in that RV during his first year with the Ravens.
Love to hear stories about these kids making good life choices.
