Which would have been the safe play. But Tenn is trying to innovate. We will have to see if it works.

Not really. Dude failed to meet the minimum standards of his contract so his contract was terminated. Not really a new concept.

Yall digging up that dirt for the NCAA to ensure he didn't meet those minimum standards is a new thing. No one throws themselves on the NCAA sword like that for money, they do it to make the punishment lighter.

If anything yall made the punishment worse (by revealing issues the NCAA lacks the ability to investigate) to get out of a buyout. As far as I know this is a first in college football history.

Serious question.

Is Tennessee REQUIRED to do this for the general public or is it a matter of employment and protected HR document(s)?

Pruitt would tell you it's a matter of law. As we have found out on numerous occasions, just because the NCAA says it, even then, it doesn't mean that litigation isn't coming. Seems I remember Miami getting the best of the NCAA and a bad situation a few years back.

Well if it's a matter of litigation, of COURSE Tennessee won't release anything. They'll claim attorney client privilege and protect everything.

That's exactly where Jeremy Pruitt and his lawyers plan on making their stand. It was unprecedented for the clueless Chancellor to frame the argument against their own interest. Hearing the multiple level-one charges that Tennessee was willing to confess without someone using a rubber hose is already a ridiculous amount of "firsthand" info we normally don't get at this stage.

As far as Dan Patrick telling us how they were buying recruits that's just more "hearsay." Who knows really?

So because they wanted to protect the university from the NCAA Pruitt didn’t fail to prevent multiple lvl I and II violations? You think the NCAA is going slow? The FBI handed the NCAA straight pay for pay from head coaches what 2 years ago, and that stuff is just now being dealt with.

Why would I think the NCAA is going slow? They only have one speed. I just said Tennessee has given the world a ridiculous amount of firsthand info we are not usually privy to at this stage. And I discounted the Patrick revelation as far as what we really know.

I am sure that is how Tenn wants to frame it now, but it was obvious at the time the intent was "we want to get rid of this coach that sucks." We can tell by how much they revealed to frame Pruitt as the bad guy. In most situations like this the coach gets fired and everything stays quiet as the investigation goes on.

College Football is too big of a business, too sophisticated to be ham-fisted and expect good results. Its clear what Tenn was doing, and if the NCAA doesn't like yall using them to cut down a buyout they could ramp up the punishment to prevent this from being a new normal.
