If Bama can't win it, then I don't want any SEC team to win it.

The only reason A&M fans want the streak to continue is because we live in Big12-land and we want ammo.

Hard core fan's mantra:

But were bama to win, pimping the SEC's profile is not worth the 12 mths of BS we'd hear.

So your entire argument against hoping an SEC team wins the NC be that Bama or UGA is based upon the 12 months of interaction you will have on the Rant? Or is it really just because you have an unquenchable loathing for them as a university?

I will be honest, I very rarely pulled for a Big 12 team in a bowl game, but that was mostly because they were playing in bowls that no one knew anything about.

Things work a little differently over here.

You're conflating "not wanting to" with "not giving a frick about."

It's not that I "don't want" the SEC to win again, it's just that I don't give a damn if it does or not. I'm not an SEC fan. I'm an Ole Miss fan.

Apparently not as it seems like I am in the minority of wanting the SEC dominance of the BCS to continue.

What exactly does the SEC have left to prove. SEC teams knocked each other out of the NC race, it's not like we all lost out of conference games. Streak isn't over if we don't get a spot. It's just on hold.

I will be pulling for Bama, Florida, GA, LSU and everyone else in the SEC to win all bowl games.

This.

We haven't lost to another conference in the BCS NCG yet.

I'm pulling hard for UGA to beat bama's arse.
I wouldn't mind Richt getting in/winning one bc he's a good guy. I don't like UGA though.

But better them than bama.

I agree that there are other teams out there that are good. Kst and Oregon are good teams that can beat the SEC champ. Whether they will is another story.

Hopefully saban strokes out over some meaningless play vs auburn and dies.

I wouldn't have a problem with Georgia winning it all. Not Bama since they didn't deserve to be there last year.

It's just because it's still the regular season. Once bowl season starts we'll all be pulling for each and if one of us loses a bowl game all hell will break loose.

To the aTm fan who never pulled for other Big 12 teams: Like the others said it's different here. No conference in CFB is like the SEC. When you have multiple teams from the same conference dominating the CFB landscape year in and year out it's hard not to feel a bit of pride. Pride that even if you didn't win it this year you play with the big boys.

All that said..frick Bama.

Really doesn't mean diddle to me. Honestly, if Alabama or Georgia do make it to the title game do you really think Saban or Richt cares who "I-59 Tiger" pulls for?

Whether an SEC team makes the game or makes it and wins won't take away from the SEC. If you're a basketball fan,its a little different. Teams not named Kentucky who make a run could possibly help your team the following season more than getting to yell "SEC" at the football NC game.

How so? What ... it is going to bump Bama's recruiting even higher? It is the law of diminishing returns. They are already dominant in recruiting and pretty much get their pick, another national title for Bama will not effect A&M to any great extent.

well, your team doesn't regularly recruit against Bama like LSU does

I want to see an SEC team in the BCS title game, but that doesn't mean I think that team deserves to be there.

I thought Alabama was the second best if not the best team in the country last year when they faced LSU, but I didn't think they should've gone to the national championship. LSU/Alabama II was purely a ratings grab.
