So, just blame Alabama and forget about the Auburn-Georgia game? Makes sense!!

It’s funny that there are more downvotes than upvotes. I know they are all Alabama fans downvoting.

What's funny also is that Alabama has more wins over Georgia than Auburn since our Tennessee streak began despite not playing UGA regularly... we also have 4 wins over a Top 3 ranked UGA squads during that period.

Now do Auburn's record over that period.

Hey don’t critique the competitiveness and intrigue of the rivalry. If you don’t rank this up there with Yankees and Red Sox, you are just dead wrong

Youre right, 9 out of 10 and soon to be 10 of eleven is SOOOOOO much more competitive.

Rivalry application: DENIED

The bammer vs Ut rivalry is dead. Give it up.

Army vs Navy has surpassed it.

No one cares about it anymore outside those two fan groups.

Kinda like the Aub/Ga game, huh?

Well if competitiveness is the barometer for true rivalry then why do LSU fans see Bama as such a rivalry. It’s not much more competitive than Bama vs Tennessee since 2012. Outside of a five year run by LSU early 2000s it’s been Bama more times than not.

Quit trying to put logic into this. Stupid LSU coonasses don’t know what a rivalry is and just want to bitch about Alabama all the time.

I can promise you from a national vantage point that nobody outside of ALA & Tenn considers this one of the heated rivalries in CFB. That's laughable.

It takes 2 good teams, or at least 2 of the teams to both be competitive on occasion, for a rivalry to matter. Tenn hasn't sniffed that in 15+ years.

Bama fans can hate it all they want, but Bama vs LSU has actually mattered most of the years from 2006-2019. The country noted that. AU vs Bama has been awesome as always. Bama vs UGA. LSU vs AU. Your team has to be in the hunt to get heated, not a doormat.

It’s all cyclical. Yes Alabama has the longest streak in the series, but the rivalry is largely characterized by streaks. At one point, Tennessee had won 9 of 11 and then at another, 7 in a row. Doubt Bama wanted to discontinue the rivalry.

Not sure if you watched the game last night - You talk about “competitive”, but it was a close game through the first three quarters. Tennessee came to play; just didn’t have the players to run for four full quarters.

If Heupel goes for it on 4th and 1 and gets it, could be a different narrative. Instead he elected to punt and put a gassed defense back on the field.

It’s the dumbest permanent game in college football. It’s never competitive.

Tennessee has a better record against Alabama this century than Michigan has against Ohio State. Would you argue that the latter rivalry is overrated?

Alabama leads the series with Tennesse 58–38–8, and current win streak is 15.

Alabama leads the series with LSU 54–26–5, with Bama having won the last 9 out of 10 (soon to be 10 out of 11).

As a program, Tennessee has had more overall success aginst the Tide than LSU. Based on the records, you could make a case that that the LSU v. Alabama rivalry is more overrated.

That game has had bigger implications more often than Tennessee and Alabama has in that time span, but yeah it is pretty overrated too.

On the other hand we’ve won the SEC and a natty despite our crap record against UGA the last 15 years.

Alabama basically beats up on a crippled kid in Tennessee, and attempts to make it a rivalry because it’s a guaranteed win.

So, a rivalry is only a rivalry when the teams are good...not the time span the game has occurred.

Got it.

Shhhhh! Don't tell them that Tn. has beaten Ala. MORE than they have. Who knows what they'll do?
