Is there any doubt that Bama's Will Anderson is the best OLB in the country ?

After 5 games he leads the nation in TFL with 11. He wrecked Kiffin's game plan so bad on Sat that after the game Lane said he hoped someone would draft him #1 overall this year even though he wont be draft eligible till after the 2022 season

He’s got my vote. Stopping the run was a team effort but he singlehandedly erased the potential for big plays in the passing game. Glad there isn’t another rusher like him on our schedule.

Crazy to think how good he will be next year. His arms are insanely long.

I was told yesterday that he wouldn’t start at UGA

Dude has the athleticism of a safety with the body and mean streak of speed rushing DE, but plays OLB. He’s nuts.

This is true, but is what makes him the best. For a guy that is only 250 pounds he takes on doubles teams on the red fro OG'and OT's vs the run and beats them with his long arms and great leverage

His sack numbers are a bit low but we've kinda had a weird draw where he's either had to play the run (Florida and Mercer), didn't play that much (Mercer, USM), or played a QB who can move so it requires picking spots on when to attack the QB (Miami, Florida, and Ole Miss).
There are some teams in the schedule ahead that ought to be target rich environments for multi-sack games. TAMU, LSU, and Auburn are not very good on the OL. MSU throws it a bunch so he'll have a lot of opportunities.

He’s full tilt on every play. Most violent player I’ve watched at Bama in a long time. When you play like that you can afford to be outweighed. His initial jab is jarring

Whoever said that should be publicly shamed as an imbecile.

Hard to get alot of sacks vs spread teams and how quick the QB gets rid of the ball. He affects QBs all the time though

UGA doesnt have a OLB with more than 5 TFL on their roster

That's right. People who watch the tape know what they're getting into with Will Anderson. He gets the entire OL out of sorts with his disruption and it improves the performance of everyone around him cleaning up the mess he creates for the offense.

You'd start him over Adam Anderson and Nolan Smith?

Easily. He’s in the backfield OFTEN. If Bama had UGAs interior, QBs would be fricked. He’s our only consistent pressure.

Both Anderson and Smith are 2 of the fastest, most versatile OLBs I've ever watched play college football. Just because they dont have stats doesnt mean they arent that good. Both insanely good pass rushers, coverage LBs, and tacklers. Get rotated on and off a lot more than other teams do.

Anderson is clearly one of the fastest and most agile defenders in the country as well. And has the stats of both those combined.
How the hell else are you going to judge a guy overall?
