Is there any concern with Pittman once his coordinators leave?

Let me be very clear. This is not a knock on Pittman. He’s a perfect fit at Arkansas. He’s got his culture implemented. He’s doing a hell of a job. One of the best things he’s done is hire Odom & Briles. While Pittman wants to be a lifer at Arkansas, I doubt Odom & Briles do. Especially with salary on the lower side of the SEC big boys.

Is there concern there will be a drop off once they move on?

Unless it’s the NFL Odom ain’t leaving. Briles isn’t getting a HC job anytime soon either.

Sure there’s concern but Pittman is a culture coach and his culture of tough, physical play is staying no matter the coordinator.

There is always that concern but that is why you get a guy like Pittman to make the right choices for the next guy if that happens.

He didn't go with safe and familiar hires when it comes to Briles. Gives me hope that he is going to go after more guys that are the best fit and less of just close buddies like so many head coaches do now.

No matter what, this culture is staying as long as Pittman is here.

huh?

Odom makes more than the DC at Bama, LSU, and Florida, and is tied with Georgia's

This is what we come out swinging with for the post-loss thread?

Imagine how bad Aggy will be when Elko leaves after this year. Jumbo and his 1990s offense ain’t cutting it.

You need to worry about overpaying your staff for amassing no depth after 4 years. The Aggy excuses are lame AF today all over the net.

Don't concern yourselves with Sam.

He's doing a much better job in the west than Kirby would...

The homer in me thinks Odom might be a Venables type. Very good coordinator but not head coach material. We can match anybody on coordinator pay. No reason for him to leave.

And we'd beat that offer if it was needed to keep him. Bigger concern is a potential HC job

Coordinators leaving is always something of a concern for most programs not named Alabama. If I were a Razorback I’d really hope administration paid that team whatever they can. They’ve got a good crew it appears

Come out swinging? I think this is a legit concern. They have very unique systems that are effective. You don’t be able to just plug and play the next coordinators. I’d argue both are a much higher caliber Arkansas has had in some time.

Nah, he hired these guys and I expect he would go after other top guys. I would love to see him bring back Barry lunney potentially if it's a keeps going.

No Alabama won’t. Saban is not hiring someone with a completely different scheme. His hires on defense have always been connected to him in some way. Not that Odom would leave anyway.

He went to mizzou, coached at Mizzou, winning at Arkansas, loves the area and grew up in the ozarks. I think Arkansas scooping him up was one of the best moves.
