I know it cant be like the NFL but when one team absorbs 90% of the top talent, is this really sportsmenlike?

I mean, what would you rather them do instead? Force schools onto kids?

No. Having more than 40 teams in D1 and not allowing players to make money are the 2 worst parts.

No.
I mean recruiting does create the caste system, but for many people they like that about the sport. How many people have you heard say shite like “College football is only good when _______ is good!”
The worst part is that the beauty contest matters more than how good teams actually are. We need an 8 team playoff.

If schools are forced to start paying salaries, then there should be a draft.

Nobody likes it but those that benefit from it.

Welcome to TD, Bernie Sanders. I hope you enjoy it here.

allocated pay to play.
Each D1 has the same amount to spend with a max cap per player. Build a team

The worst part are certain media and fans who have this blind desire for total fairness, which is unobtainable in the college game. That's why you see constant crying about recruiting, expanding the playoff, paying players, etc.

when you're bama or the like, the school recruits itself.

your not bama so why are you ok with it?

It's obtainable, it would just require a fundamental shift in the entire system.
You could also eliminate cheating, and the pretense of amateurism.
Become a true minor leagues for the NFL.

I think Texas should have to give up all it's in-state talent. It's not fair to have that many players in one state.
A&M is allowed the same # of 3,4 and 5-star Texas kids as UMass.

Sure, it's obtainable if you fundamentally change the entire sport and trash everything that makes it great in the process. Sure, the cheating can be cleaned up but paying players won't be the answer to that.
College Football isn't perfect and can be a little messy at times. That's part of the appeal. Its not some sterile product like so many other sports.
