Is parity ever gonna reach college football?

They put a limit on how many players you can recruit in a year (not sure how you can even keep track of that with the portal in place), they went from a 2 team championship game to a 4 team playoff (thanks Bama/lsu) and are now going to a 12 team playoff ( thanks Bama/Ga) just to get more teams in to try and knock the sec off. What is it going to take for college football to catch up to the sec?

Maybe across too 20-25 that gets nil and portal figured out, but never across the board.

I don’t think there are 12 teams that deserve to play for the title but I do believe that a 12 team playoff will increase parity. More teams making should mean the top talent will spread around a little more instead of all of them going to the same schools that make the playoffs every year. Definitely don’t think there should be 12 teams in the playoffs but I do think it will be best for the sport overall in the long run

Weaker schedules. With Texas and OU joining, the SEC's road to the gayoffs are going to get a bit more challenging. Meanwhile, Michigan gets Purdue team in its conference championship game...

College football had plenty of parity during the BCS era.
The playoff era seemingly ended that, but over the past two years it hasn’t been bad. The B1G is the only P5 conference with the same conference champion over the past two years.

Really though its been all sec and a couple wins here and there from other conferences. Every year it's the same top teams that are gonna play for it. Not that I have a problem with that because it's been great for Bama. I just don't see the parity. And I'm wondering what other changes will the powers that be make to try and even things up.

Cut schollys down to 55ish. The NFL rosters are only 54 active players (only 46 can dress per game). NFL plays a longer schedule and they have no issue with their system.
Sure, the SEC will still get most of the 5 stars, but it will force some good talent to go elsewhere around the country. The reason the SEC dominates is because the south is where the talent is. If you can force some of that talent out of the south, that will help.
The only way to achieve true parity is with a draft, but that ain't gonna happen (nor should it) in a college sport.

I like how Parity generally must be earned over generations of success in college football. Instead of how the NFL rewards teams for being bad

Other programs outside the south started caring about college football again.

UGA got LSU in the SEC championship game. Now LSU and Purdue will be playing each other in a Bowl game.
