I would be. He beat Saban twice in a row and nearly three times, and so the league trumped up charges to stop him. Charges that by today's standards are laughable.

If Hugh Freeze was able to stay at Ole Miss, he would have ended Saban's run and the powers-that-be didn't want that.

He took a preseason top 10 team and had them finished unranked. Who would miss that?

Nah, not really. He was a dipshit who fell due to his own hubris. He also was responsible for the talent disparity that created some of the worst defenses of all time in 2016-17. I think he deserves another shot, but I've seen this movie before.

You may want to look at his last season at Ole Miss (2016). He had Chad Kelly, Shea Patterson, Jordan Ta'amu, AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, Evan Engram, Van Jefferson, and he went 5-7....

Freeze was a really average coach. The program went straight up and straight down under him. I do miss his energy but I’m more confident with Lane. Personally. Don’t fault others thinking the opposite

And if Tua wasn't rusty in the first half due to missing a few weeks over an injury in 2019, Alabama annihilates LSU and ruins their dream season...

He recruit these guys? If so, that is 1000% better than what Auburn has now. Start with talent. Have to.

I do think that some powers that be saw Freeze/Ole Miss as disruptive to the NCAA's economic cartel and weren't sad to find something to nuke them with. Doesn't take away from the creepiness of Freeze, but before the recent Supreme Court decision basically pushed the NCAA aside, the NCAA rigorously defended a economic status quo.

Yep the league ran him off at OM... took a big 6 wanting him to get him back into the league. SEC blocked him to Bama but AU runs a cleaner program so it was approved. That's what's been the rumor at least.

Freeze could handle offense but everyone forgets he got fired before he had to live with maybe the worst OC and DC hires in Ole Miss history. If he didn’t get fired for hookers he would’ve been fired for Wesley McGriff and Phil Longo. Go look at what Longo had at Ole Miss on his rosters and look at his performances against sec teams

Matt Luke kept Longo and McGriff on and you can see the results. Those teams were stacked on offense but couldn’t score. Those defenses were some of the worst in Ole Miss history.

He will crash and burn hard as frick.

Atleast Kiffin ducking college students is hilarious. Freeze doing it as a preacher and family man is just sad.
