I can't think of another game with so much hype leading up to the game. I am an LSU fan and I do have a respectful hate for Alabama, but I also have a great respect for great football. These 2 teams are hands down 2 of the best I have ever seen. I think the best part of this upcoming matchup is the respect that each fan base have for the opposing team. I think we all know that we will witness one of the greatest games of all time and that everything will be left on that field.

Here's to a great game and GEAUX TIGERS !!

I think the 1971 Oklahoma-Nebraska game will always be the greatest. #1 Nebraska vs. #2 Oklahoma in a regular season showdown that a lot of people rank as the greatest game of all-time.

I don't hate Lsu. My favorite games at Bds the past several games were lsu ones. Here's to the party and to a hell of a game. I will be a witness!

Going to game. Can't wait myself. Hope the game is as good as all the hype. Here's how I see it just for fun:
Home field advantage- +2 bama
defense LSU - +3 LSU
offense Bama- +7 bama
special teams-+3 LSU
Coaching- +2 LSU hats luck is unreal.
Total: advantage +1 bama
final score: 35-34 bama in a slobberknocker.

It most likely won't be a great game. Hyped games rarely are. One team comes out to charged up and blows its wad in the first quarter and gets pummeled for three quarters, or it turns into a mistake, penalty filled abortion of a game. Very rarely does it ever go down as an epic game between titans. Most of the time, by the end of the game, one team will be labeled as a pretender.

For obvious reasons, I think that team will be LSU, but it could be Bama.

Well thankfully your opinion is meaningless. Thanks for playing!

"I think the 1971 Oklahoma-Nebraska game will always be the greatest. #1 Nebraska vs. #2 Oklahoma in a regular season showdown that a lot of people rank as the greatest game of all-time."

That was a great game but remember, back then, a defensive tackle was 6-4 / 260 lbs and he was a monster. LB were 6-0 / 210 lbs. Todays kids would kick the stuffing out of any teams in the 70's because of size and strength. I can never remember when LSU / Alabama have had two more dominating teams playing each other. Saying this will be the game of the century is of course rediculous. However, you may go your entire life and never see two such teams do battle again. Here's to a great, clean game and may the best team win.

What about UF/LSU in 2007

What about the LSU/Bama game in 2005? Weren't both teams undefeated going into that game?

Game of the century depends on whose glasses you are looking through. Notice in your link that other than ark-tx, ou-nebraska, majority are northern schools. No sec game of the century? Got to be kidding me. Do you think there might have been a negative attitude toward southern football? I do.

I remember the great Charlie Mac teams and the absolute nail biter games against LSU. In my book, Bama/LSU have played plenty "Games of the Century"

Wasn't LSU vs Ole Miss on Halloween night in 1959 a 1 vs 2?

It is the only game that LSU has played in that had that situation with 2 undefeated teams.

And, or course all of the BCS championship games have essentially a 1 vs 2 situation. But, they are not typically, both undefeated.

All of this hype from LSU fans is going to look really silly at the end of the season if they end up with 2 losses and out of the BCS again.
