It's definitely different than UT or Auburn. I don't hate LSU. I like LSU.

So it's pretty different and that's why many Bama fans may be hesitant to call it a rivalry.

I have always considered LSU a "lesser rival" along with Florida though

I don't consider Alabama even a lesser rival. Other than some shite talking on message boards, these fan bases co-exist quite well. The worst thing that's happened is some dude put his balls in another dude's face, which had more to do with the enormity of the game being played than the fact that the two teams were conference foes.

All of my face-to-face encounters with LSU fans have been positive ones. One of the first 'Bama games I ever went to as a kid was against LSU in Bryant-Denny, and the Tiger fans and team left a lasting impression on me.

LSU fans by and large tend to be great people who know a lot about football. As such, LSU has been my second favorite team for the last twenty years.

Take it for what it's worth. I am not ashamed to admit that I've pulled for LSU in the past and will again in the future.

LSU is absolutely a rival to Bama and vice/versa. The West is on the line every time they play. WE've been recruiting the same kids from LA and the fanbases respect each other despite the trash talk.

This has definitely become one of the biggest rivalries in the SEC lately...

LSU has had some stronger rivalries with Arkansas, Auburn and Florida lately, but those have died down some...Arkansas is always tough though

LSU-Florida during the Tebow days was pretty strong...

LSU-Bama has become brutal though...its definitely a slugfest

As for Alabama, I don't think you'll ever dethrone the Iron Bowl, but definitely don't think Bama-Tennessee has the steam it used to...

It's getting that way between the two schools.

Agreed though.

Traditionally, we see Ole Piss and Arky as our two biggest rivals in the SEC.

I think A&M will change things up for both schools.
