The obvious answer is yes.

2011 Auburn wasn’t anywhere near as bad at this LSU team is.

Auburn 2011 never had a losing record, did they?

They will talk about LSU’s post championship suckiness for centuries.

There is only one word to adequately describe this very poor title defense:

Oof!

The drop-off has been precipitous and the fear has been delicious. The resignation so common among their fans has been inauspicious.

As your coach, the Crimson Emperor himself, once declared about his program, we aren’t defending anything. This is an entirely different team that didn’t win anything last year.

...and you’re still not going 15-0 this year.

2011 Auburn finished their season 8-5 and remained ranked for the majority of the season. They even made it to a bowl game. If LSU loses tonight, the best the Tigers can hope for is a 4-6 record but will likely finish the season 3-7.

1934 Michigan
Record: 1-7

Between 1932 and ‘33, Michigan went 15-0-1. In those two years, they gave up 31 total points. Lost 76% of the starters from 1934 NC.

Of course their only win was vs SEC... that GT!

If the Aggies had not felt sorry for the defending National Champions and let them score in the last 39 seconds of the game they would have been shut out.

When is the last time a defending National Champion was shut out?
