These guys are dead last in the SEC. Seriously? 1-2? Honestly, it looks like they are headed for another 1st-round exit in the NIT.
Last year they lost to Evansville and didn't even make the NCAA tournament. That entire program has been running downhill since they won it all in 2012.
Since then they've suffered a string of embarrassing season-ending losses.
12-13: Missed tournament and lost to Robert Morris in the NIT
13-14: Beaten by 8 seed UConnn
14-15: Lost to a Wisconsin team who's best players were named Sam, Frank, and Nigel
15-16: Lost to #5 seed daddy Indiana in the round of 32
16-17: Lost to daddy North Carolina on a game winning shot from a dude named Luke Maye
17-18: Lost to #9 seed Kansas State
18-19: Literally got beat by Auburn. Can't even be the best in their conference
19-20: Lost to Evansville and missed tournament
20-21: Has already lost to Kansas and Richmond
Everyone likes to talk about tDecline in reference to Bama football, but honestly tDecline is more present in Kentucky Basketball.
This has clearly been weighing on Coach Cal, because he has gone from looking like a respectable man to a guy who tells his wife he's going to the gym but really goes to Cici's to eat a shite ton of pizza and run all the pizza grease through his hair.

that's a very LSU fanish thing to post especially considering Kentucky has won more recent basketball titles than, say, 1980

Which is ok, because we don't claim to be a basketball school.

Meh. Solid richmond team, and top 5 kansas. We have issues, need Keion back, need to figure out a way to shoot 3's consistently.
This is every Cal team. March is what matters.

Gotta get to March before you can worry about that. Pretty sure a .333 win percentage won't get you guys very far.

Kentucky's biggest problem is that freshmen struggle to shoot, likely because the 3pt line is deeper in college. This is the same reason NBA rookies often struggle to shoot threes. This will always be an issue for teams that rely so heavily on freshmen. I don't have any stats to back this up but it is an observation I've made over 30 years of watching college basketball.
This was also the downfall of the Zion Williamson Duke team against Michigan State.

Basketball is a particularly problematic sport relative to recruiting.
Kentucky recruits at the highest level but due to the nature of basketball and the associated rules those top recruits often only play one season before making the jump to the NBA.
This translates in to teams with players who are less mature both mentally and physically creating problems with team cohesion.
Kentucky has basically become a springboard for players with NBA aspirations.
This is why teams with less talent based on recruiting rankings can beat Kentucky; such teams have more mature players who stick with their team for multiple seasons and learn to play as a team.

The only thing I learned from this thread is that the quality of public education in Athens GA is as bad as its poverty rate.
I knew I should have pulled out of diddley’s mom when I came back on block leave after my first tour in Iraq. Sorry guys, alcohol and such.

Then are we within our rights to ask if Georgia is even still a football school anymore?

But it’s original to troll Kentucky over being shitty with freshmen during covid?
Let’s talk about thUGA for a second. How do you call yourselves a football school when you can’t win a national title in 40 years? Literally every one of your rivals has a more recent title than you.
shite, thUGA can’t even produce a recent Heisman winner. Pathetic.
You want to troll Kentucky fine, but at least make sure you aren’t the textbook example of an underachiever.

Not a bad set up but your replies have been terrible in this thread, be better

Is Georgia even a football school in the 21st century?

Imagine going to this mich effort to troll and not even making a meme

Just when I think you couldn’t get any dumber, you post some more nonsense like this. You are far and away one of the worst posters on this board.

It is the third game of the season you dumbass, not to mention the caliber of teams they’ve played thus far.
quote:
didn't even make the NCAA tournament.
No one in college basketball made the NCAA tournament last season. Pure stupidity and very poor effort on your part.

NCAA Championship title appearance since then, several final fours, elite eights and sweet sixteens. Multiple SEC Championships and Tournament Champions since then.

What?! Who? If anyone knows that not to be the case, it’s Georgia.
quote:
Coach Cal, because he has gone from looking like a respectable man
A GEORGIA fan talking about another team’s lack of success in any sport is hilarious, especially basketball. And worst of all, I hate you for having me defend UK basketball and UA football. You are the worst.

All UK has to do is get two or three ELITE graduate transfers a year to go along with the five star freshmen they recruit. Other excellent coaches have figured out this is the winning formula and they never struggle.
