Let’s way you have the option to have 1 good qb or 2. They are both good with no clear cut better player possibly with different skill sets. Personally I would rather just have 1 because if they’re super close in practice and thinks don’t go perfect for you on the season you could have fans and more importantly other players on the team second guessing the coaches and second guessing the guy behind center. I’ve noticed quarter back drama flair up more and more the past few years I’m college football and I believe there’s pros and cons to both sides of the argument

I actually liked fields in the red zone better than fromm last season.

I don't think the Leak / Tebow combo is bad when it is done right.
We didn't quite have the combo right last season.

The proposition has an important caveat. Typically, schools do not actually have 2 good QBs. They might have 2 mediocre QBs, but both guys tend to have real flaws.

The cases where both QBs are actually good or better do not seem to have those issues. Tua and Jalen did not seem to be problematic. Bryant and Lawrence did not last long, but it was fine. Other combos like Leak/Tebow or even ones like Ohio State had with the trio of Miller/Jones/Barrett have all worked. The problems show up when guys keep making major mistakes that cause others, inside or outside the program, to wonder why the other player is not getting more time.
