How would it help Alabama for Texas to move into the conference?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Texas A&M will end up being the only NO vote, then it will be announced as unanimous.

Does it hurt Alabama is the better question. I don’t know but Alabama’s stance is irrelevant here. The argument at the conference level would be that super conferences are coming so it’s best to stay ahead than acting in a reactionary way and risk falling behind.

You really think Alabama football is scared of Texas football? This isn’t 2005

Someone was reporting this morning that the vote has already happened and was 11-1.

11-1 equals 12.

13-1 maybe? I would have thought Mizzou would vote no

More money from TV contracts. That's all this is about.

I expect Texas will rise to the top. They should excel with NIL. Their recruiting will skyrocket making them the most talented team in the SEC in four years.

I would guess that A&M voted no with abstentions from Arkansas and Missouri.

From what I've read on Mizzou boards from folks who would be in the know, it doesn't sound like they'd be a no. No real bad blood with OU; honestly Mizzou was going to stay in the Big 12 until OU's dipsh*t president said they "weren't going to be wallflowers" and in hindsight Mizzou should have sent him a fruit basket as a thanks to them for forcing Mizzou to be proactive.

Texas is Texas and nobody wants to deal with their BS, but long term, playing in a pod with UT, Arky and OU sounds like a decent time and travel will be cheaper if nothing else. Certainly OU and UT aren't any more difficult than UGA and FL on a yearly basis, and maybe we can get some decent central time zone basketball games out of the deal.

We have the votes, the package deal of Texas and Oklahoma was too much of a deal to say no to. As a Texas and football fan in general I am happy us alongside OU chose the SEC to approach first.

Big 12 will be given official notice early next week from both Texas and Oklahoma about our decision to move on.

It helps everyone as long as Texas is a solid citizen. If they come in here insisting on keeping Longhorn Network or getting special treatment, then it's going to be a problem for all of us.

None of us has a reason to fear Texas football. To quote my grandfather, they ain't shite.
