i'm really not...i tried to tell people what was going to happen to us with a coach that had almost zero college football background....i really have replaced football enthusiasm with basketball

They will not fire Gus. It's in his contract that if he is terminated then Auburn gets stuck with Kristi.

As long as he wins 8 games a year and beats Alabama every 4 years then he is safe. They kept Tuberville for 10 years even though he only had 10+ wins 2 times.

If he doesn’t at least split amen corner next year they may have to move on Gus.
I think ultimately Gus is a scheme guy and the scheme is not as effective as the past.

The Auburn hierarchy loves him because he is a thorn in Saban's flesh and has proven he can beat him. The auburn boys will keep him around for this alone.

Auburn is a proven winner not some poser like A&M or Mississippi State; but its still a legitimate question to ask: Can AU be elite with UGA and Bama both recruiting at the level they are? AU will snag a player here and there from other places but their main base is Georgia and Alabama. Both those programs are hand picking the best. What coach out there going to out recruit Smart and Saban?
