Is "Gators" an unoriginal copout mascot like "Tigers" and "Bulldogs"?

How many states have Gators?
We had one or five or something in Arkansas in Conway pretty recently.
Who doesn't have them? Missouri and Kentucky? The Yankee states?
so 12 out of 14 fanbases HAVE gators?
DON'T ANCHOR THIS BIGD!

Because Arkansas is the only state with wild hogs?

Right?
We should change it to the pythons or iguanas. They are taking over South Florida.

I think the Gator mascot is one of the better ones around. 2nd in the SEC as far as originality. Plus, its one of the few mascots you can devour at a tailgate (Hogs, Bevo, Buffalo, & Ducks)
RANKED CHOICE MOST ORIGINAL MASCOT
1. Hogs
2. Gator
3. Crimson Tide
4. Vols
5. Gamecocks
6. Rebels
7. Aggy
8. Wildcat
9. Bulldog
10. Tigers
Aubie would move into the top 3 if they'd just go by "Plainsmen"

They could move into the top spot overall if they would just go by "Redneck Farmers."
new mascot (same as the old mascot)

How many teams call themselves gators. I can only think of one. Seems pretty original to me.

Any animal mascot that isn't a chicken or some type of marsupial is unoriginal. But look at the bright side, your school will probably never incur the wrath of the woke mob.....maybe.

Are their any other Gator mascots?

You want confusion, Ware County Gators using the UGA "G" on their helmets.
In fairness, it was Ware Co. HS Gators & Waycross HS Bulldogs.
