Is Ed O actually on the hot seat next season?

I don’t really see why he should be starting out. If LSU has a repeat season or sits around .500 I could see there being some serious pressure in 2022. How secure is his job right now and his standing with the fan base? Recruiting seems fine and he obviously can win.
I think LSU as a team can’t really be at its best without a certain level of swagger and that requires a cohesiveness and bonding that COVID kind of destroyed this year. It’s also why Bama was so successful since we’re more of a “ho-hum” business as usual kind of program. I fully expect y’all to be back and being a pain in the arse soon.

As insecure as the LSU fan base is? Yes. He will be on the hot seat once his record against Jimbo is 1-3.

I think the Miles fiasco kinda threw me off on LSU fans and their relationship with coaches. I think Ed is going to get his shite together, but Jimbo and A&M might actually become a bigger deal than the competition with Bama if they keep beating him.

You don’t even believe this.
O will be on the hot seat if he loses again to programs like Missouri and Miss State.

Is nick saban on the hot seat... what about jimbo, or mullen... how about kirby? If anyone has a seat on simmer, its kirby.

He will not be on the hot seat. He’s got minimum 2 years, likely 3 even if we aren’t winning 10 games.
However, I’m pretty sure 9 wins is the floor this year. We return everyone. LSU will be fine.

Coach O will be on hot seat but won't be fired, because LSU is running out of money now. oh wait, another round oil boom is coming, all options are on the table.

yeah. Alabama is 9-1 vs LSU the last 10 games, and most reasonable LSU fans realize and some even admit they aren't likely to beat Saban as much as Saban beats LSU. So that said, the fact that Fisher has beaten LSU 2 of 3 games since he moved to A&M has become the major pain in the ask for most LSU fans.
So since Orgeron has won 1 of 5 games vs Alabama and 1 of 3 games vs Fisher, and last season was horrible, I think his seat it getting very warm even with a 3 loss season, and a similar season the next year he would be out. Les Miles lost 3 in 2015, started 2&2 the next season, and was fired.
There were lot of coaching changes at LSU. How will that shake out. The offensive coordinator has never held that position anywhere or ever called plays. The defensive coordinator has only ever been a dc at Bowie State, which I think is in Suffragette City. It will be interesting to watch.

Is that the bad Ed or the good Ed on Slicks shoulder?

No need to be defensive, was just trying to figure out how you came to those two conclusions.

Bad timing for O. It appears the USF job will go to Gus. Perhaps he and the guy from Iowa State can switch jobs at the end of next season?

Wait til Coach O is 2-3 against State.

you do have a point there. In fact, if LSU loses again to Miss. State, Missouri, A&M, and Alabama, I doubt he'd get another year.

Probably not but LSU won't play Mizzou for awhile

He's fine if he wins 10 games.

I didn't realize that. So 1&4 vs Alabama, 1&2 vs Fisher at A&M, and 2&2 vs Miss. State. I wonder if he's 0&1 vs Missouri.
edit: How is he 2&2 vs Miss. State but 1&4 vs Alabama?
edit again: Oh yeah, he became head coach about mid season in 2016 so maybe due to that.
