Is Auburn a basketball school now?

They’ve seen quite a bit of success recently and the fanbase seems to have enjoyed the win over LSU more than they enjoyed winning the Iron Bowl back in November. Congrats to Auburn and I’m glad they now have something to cheer for. They have a very good basketball program now and it should continue under Bruce Pearl.

We have just finally found a coach that can take advantage of AUs location and resources. I do not think this is just a phase. If Pearl stays 5-7 more years, he will establish a solid BB fanbase.

Yes. They are good at basketball and their fans obviously care. The football team is above average and can’t beat the rivals (well, minus the iron bowl this year). I’d say they are transitioning to a basketball school

The precedence of that caliber of season wasn’t the point, don’t be obtuse. The point is one of those coaches is infinitely better at breeding excitement and expectations than the other.
