After Tennessee, Florida, and A&M hire new coaches, what is left? Will Ole Miss be forced to hire a second tier coach? Will Arky be force to stick with Bert?

Nah, Norvell is the safe back up plan

Probably not. Someone will hire Bill Clark and reap the benefits.

Bill Clark isn't a "sexy" hire, but the guys is a damn good coach.

We certainly won’t hire our DL coach to be HC.

Tennessee and Auburn were both open last time and we hired a "better name on paper" coach. Just because you hire a hot name doesn't guarantee they will be the best hire. More important to hire the right fit IMO.

A lot of hiring is just getting lucky so that's why I don't understand when people get scared off by other programs being open.

No

UF will apparently get Kelly - if not him, then Frost
UT will either get Gruden, Mullen, or Norvell - Mullen is my guess
A&M is going to throw the book at Chad Morris

That leaves us with Norvell, Jeremy Pruitt, Charlie Strong (not a huge fan but his name is being thrown around), and a few other names.

To be honest though, no one in Oxford has any clue which way we are leaning. Bjork is playing this one very close to the chest and is not talking with anyone about anything concerning the coaching search. My guess is that he is waiting for the sanctions to come out before a true list of coaches comes out, but that when we do get the verdict, we will PROBABLY have a new coach within a few days of the verdict dropping.

I guess we'll find out if we is or we isn't.

If OM hires wisely, then no. They may even get someone more talented (but less proven) than the aforementioned three schools.

As others have said getting a new coach is a crap shoot. You roll the dice and take your chances. Plenty of big name coaches have been hired only to demonstrate that they've lost the magic. Plenty of iffy coaching hires have turned out to be tremendous hires.

Saban was not setting the world on fire when LSU hired him. That turned out fairly well for them (sadly it turned out even better for Bama in the long run).

While the pressure is on to get a big name coach I'd rather get a young and hungry one. With Saban squatting on top of the SEC West you might as well go young and wait him out.

I wouldn't know Bill Clark if I saw him, but he would probably be an improvement over 80% of the D1 head coaches out there. He's been impressive in a shite situation.

Yes, your DL Coach beat statistically one of the worst coaches in Arkansas Football History twice......you should print banners for this accomplishment.

So two of OM's top 3 are guys who would crawl to Arkansas.

Good to know.

Ole miss will be lucky to get any of those 3 . With the sanctions coming soon , Ole Mill will have a hard time finding a good head coach.

Arkansas should be able to get a good second tier head coach . They will spend money and they don’t care about baggage. Lane Kiffin would be a great hire if they could convince him to go there .
