Is 2020 the year Texas A&M dethrones Alabama in the West?

Interesting article on teams that are on the "verge" of breaking through. A&M ranks #1 on the list. Tua will be gone next year and the Tide will be losing a lot of production players...maybe it'll be time to crown a new Wicked Witch of the West.

Allbarn, you'll be too busy trying to find a new coach (AGAIN!!!), plus, y'all have a lot of cleaning up to do in that trailer park (try to keep your cousins off of one another---there are no more pry bars left in town).

Don't know about 2020, but I do sense they are next.

people have been waiting for that to happen since 2010, I'll beleive it when I see it. The only somewhat silver lining is that it would be virtually impossible (it seems like) for them to be as good or better than they have been the last few seasons. They will always have elite defense but the last couple have not been QUITE as good as the ones from 09 to ~15ish, I don't think. Their OL recruiting is not at the otherworldly level it has been lately, still excellent becase it's bama but not what it has been. And there is simply no conceivable way that in a year or 2 their passing game will be as good as it is now wiht tua and those 4-5 video game cyborg receivers they have. I just dont think it's possible, although some bama people I know tell me that the younger tua will be better than the current one

2012 and 2013 weren’t great defenses. Neither was 2018. But 2016 and 2017 were very good. Injuries just riddled 2017.

I and not convinced the heir at QB won’t be Paul Tyson or someone Sarkisian brings in the next couple of classes.

true I was just giving a general time frame, and even though they weren't "great", they were still waht, probably top 5-10 defenses in teh country probably? It's also kinda crazy to look at the top tier teams of right now compared to 7-8 years ago. 2018 Bama would probably kill 2012 bama.

Injuries in '17 were the only reason you had a scare at MSU and lost to AU. When those LBers got healthy again come January it was a completley different team. If uga/bama played in the SECCG in '17 I would imagine we would have won.

If A&M can’t do it in 2020 and/or 2021 then no one will until Saban is gone.

I like Sarkisian. Anyone blaming him for the Clemson loss in Tampa is being obtuse.

He brings a lot of the same principles as Kiffin to the table. But I’m sure his NFL experience has changed his philosophy somewhat.

Obviously, that's where the smart money is. I kid...but 2020 is definitely our best opportunity.

It's unfortunate for the rest of the conference, but no one is dethroning Alabama until Saban retires. When that happens, Mama will call Dabo home and you'll all still be fricked.

2020 will kinda be a rebuilding year for Bama IMO....and by rebuilding I mean maybe 2 losses. So I do think the conference is open for Georgia and aTm to make a move that year.
