No. But it should be. We were 10-0 and won the Rose Bowl in convincing fashion over highly ranked Southern Cal.

No. Jim Bob at the Piggly Wiggly said that they were the best that year so they claimed another championship.

Army had a better schedule.
They played 5 ranked teams (Michigan, Duke, Penn, Navy, and Notre Dame).
Bama only played 1 ranked team, SoCal. And they had a weak schedule against teams like Keeslar AAF, Pensacola NAS, and Vanderbilt.

Undefeated SEC was Bama.
Undefeated Missouri Valley Conference was Oklahoma A&M.
You tell me who won.

Anyone other than Bama claiming 1945 over Army is being silly.

'41 is our only real fake. Kind of embarrassing that we claim it, if you ask me.

Army refused to play Alabama in the post-season.
The media was practically begging Army to accept a Sugar Bowl invite to play Alabama in New Orleans. When Army refused and stayed home instead of going bowling, Alabama accepted an invitation to the Rose Bowl to play Southern Cal.

Looks like Oklahoma State is now claiming it
And they probably should. After going 8-0 regular season then beating St. Mary in their bowl game, who could argue with that?

Clearly, it didn't hurt Army since they are regarded as the national champs. Their body of work was stronger and they beat #2 Navy to end the season.

True.
And it's certainly no coincidence that in 1945, the year we won World War II, the top two teams in the country were #1 Army and #2 Navy.

Oh come one, Keeslar AAF was a dominant program at the time!

Vanderbilt was pretty good back in those days. In fact, they had gone undefeated two consecutive years prior to that.
Bama's full schedule in 1945:
