A Mobile, Ala., man was shot Monday after an argument over which college football team is better — Alabama or Auburn? The shooting occurred at a motel, per AL.com, as the victim was shot in the thigh after another man became angry over the debate. The gunshot wound is not life threatening.
Police responded to the shooting, but they are still searching for the suspect, who left after firing his gun. If caught, the perpetrator is facing a second-degree assault charge.
Alabama was ranked No. 1 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, which were released Tuesday. Auburn came in at sixth. The Tigers will host the Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl on Nov. 25, and a trip to the SEC championship game will be on the line between the archrivals.
Regardless of the outcome, let's hope no else gets shot.

I know I'm older than a lot of you but I often wonder how much more productive we could be if we didn't follow sports. As I type this on a sports message board.

Totally agree.
I did a study on this a few years ago. I didn't watch or listen to any Auburn or Alabama games for one complete season. My stress level was down, got much more done and was over all a happier person.
