Has he ever had a game with no completions?

I think Brandon Avalos beat Southern Miss without completing a pass when both Croyle and Pennington were injured. Avalos was the starter and went 0-7 IIRC.

Cool, didn't know he threw that few INTs in High School, he is great at taking care of the ball, even in college most of the INTs I've seen him throw were on tipped balls.

He did make some bad mistakes in the spring game though and throw two terrible INTs right to the DBs, he was trying to do too much for sure, I think he'll get it corrected before the season.

I know he had a game with 2 interceptions

My first thought. But I wish him well other than Sep. 14. Other than the idiotic tattoos he seems like a good guy and is my 2nd favorite SEC QB.

Yeah Alabama ran the ball like 80 times that game to the tune of a 17-3 win. Dennis Franchione gave scholarships to Spencer Pennington and Brandon Avalos.....

I put together those same stats (along with the stats from spring scrimmages and A-day games) two years ago when the Phillip Sims' supporters would claim that AJ had too much of a gunslinger mentality to win the starting job. Seems ridiculous now, but that's what some people thought.

In fairness, during the spring and fall camps of 2011, Phillip Sims looked like the better quarterback. Maybe not by much, but he seemed more polished and had a better pocket presence. But when it came game time, he struggled badly and by the end of the Kent game it was obvious AJ was gonna be the man.

He looked better in the spring game by a hair. IDK about the rest of spring and fall camps

Yeah, not a lot separated the two. It was a good situation because both seemed like legit starters. I was favoring Sims just a little, but I was wrong.

What's his INT-sideline spanking ratio?

A Gun Slinger who doesn't throw a lot of picks is quite possibly the most deadly version of a QB.
